ARGENTINE Model 1909/47 Mauser bolt-action cavalry carbine # 002251 (7.65x53) mfg. by F.M.A.P. (Rosario) in 1947. An Excellent example, with 95% bluing on all metal that should be blued, receiver in the white. Argentine crest above chamber. All-matching numbers with an excellent mirror-bright bore. AUSTRALIAN No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # 98113 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal in 1918 with Australian Department of Defense property-marks on left side of chamber. DRILL-PURPOSE rifle in Excellent-PLUS condition. Nice early "Lithgow shield" emblem on receiver. All matching numbers, bore is dark and filthy, bolt has been rendered inoperable by snipping the firing-pin and welding up the front of the bolt-head (could be made functional simply by using another bolt). Bright yellow DP bands on forend and butt, right side of butt has really nice 1943-dated service cartouches. Very few handling-marks on wood, no magazine. PHOTOS . . . $325. C&R
BRITISH Lee Metford Mk. II bolt-action sporting rifle # G122 (.303 British) mfg. by Birmingham Small Arms Co. in c. 1900. An undated commercial Long Lee in near Excellent overall condition with no military markings at all. Has fully blued finish with very bright and strong bore. Top of barrel marked JOHN RIGBY & Co., 72 ST. JAMES'S ST, LONDON (the famous sporting arms merchant and manufacturer still doing business at that address today). This rifle still retains its front and rear volley-sights and has magazine cut-off still attached. Right side of butt-socket stamped LEE-SPEED PATENTS / B. S. A. Co., left side of receiver states FOR CORDITE ONLY. Bolt is not matching receiver (as usual) but retains safety behind bolt-handle. BRITISH SMLE No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # A70394 (.303 British) mfg. by Ishapore in 1918 and has gone through two refurbishments, the first by Ishapore in 1926 (when the magazine cut-off was dispensed with), the second at British Small Arms in 1952 where the BSA-logo barrel was installed. Excellent-PLUS condition, unissued since last through FTR and still in the arsenal grease. CHINESE Model 56 Siminov SKS semiautomatic rifle # 2378320 (7.62x39) mfg. by Factory 26. Very Good condition with little evidence of use. CHINESE Model 56 Siminov SKS "Cowboy's Companion" semiautomatic carbine (7.62x39) mfg. by Factory 0146. UNISSUED condition with zero evidence of use. These "paratrooper" configuration SKS's were made by Norinco for a West Coast importer with stock inlet for integral scope mount on left side of receiver (but no mount is attached) and perforated metal handguard as standard equipment. Major parts matching, bayonet was not allowed to be attached when imported and is not included. Includes cleaning-kit in butt-trap as well as correct Chinese web-sling. Scarce. DUTCH Model 1895 Mannlicher bolt-action carbine # 245E (6.5x53R) mfg. by Steyr in 1897. Very Good condition, with 80% bluing and pitting at the wood-line. Mis-matched bolt with handle turned-down and lots of pitting on top, bore is dark but pretty strong. Excellent-PLUS condition with 98% or better bluing on all metal parts and a bright and very strong bore (counterbored at muzzle). (marked below wood-line) on a scrubbed hexagonal receiver stamped AZF (original rifle captured by Austria during WWI). Near Excellent condition with 90% original bluing. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 711p (8x57) mfg. by Mauser (factory code byf) in 1941. A Russian reworked rifle in Excellent condition, with 100% re bluing and intact Nazi markings. Has all-milled parts (H-type front band) electro-penciled to match receiver. The bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Buttstock is laminated with faint Army (eagle over H) cartouches and blued flat buttplate. Has repro cleaning-rod, front sight hood and locking-screws and Yugo leather sling. We sold this rifle several years ago and it looked like this, the customer cleaned the shellac off the stock and (for some reason) removed the bluing from the bolt, so now it looks like THIS which I think is an improvement (except for the bolt). . . $350. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 13574 (8x57) mfg. by Mauser (factory code byf) in 1944. Near Excellent condition, with 85+% bluing and a mirror-bright bore. Nazi eagle / swastika weak but present,. along with two additional commercial proofs on left side of barrel and receiver. This rifle shows signs of postwar use in Czechoslovakia or somewhere near there, as it has a vz24 sight-hood, an additional sling-swivel at bottom of stock and a vz24 rear barrel-band with bent bottom swivel, front band is of the stamped and welded type. Bolt is numbered 9873 (all bolt-parts also stamped or inscribed 73), triggerguard, magazine-floorplate and buttplate all stamped 13574 to match receiver. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 490 (8x57) mfg. by Bystrica (code dou) in 1945. A Russian reworked rifle in Excellent condition, with 100% re bluing, intact Nazi markings and a great mirror-bright bore. Has all milled parts electro-penciled to match receiver. Buttstock is solid walnut with clear WaA135 cartouche and cupped buttplate. Includes repro front-sight hood, cleaning-rod and locking-screws. ITALIAN EAST AFRICA Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action cavalry carbine # 9028P (8x50R) mfg. by Budapest in c.1915. Very Good external condition, with 70% or so bluing, bore is dark and rough (doesn't look as if it has ever been cleaned). Bolt not numbered. buttstock numbered to match receiver and has original finish with bold AOI underlined and cartouche encased in circle on right side along with Arabic numbers in white paint. IRANIAN Model 49 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 19436 (8x57) mfg. by Mosalsalsasi in 1950 with 18" barrel. Excellent-PLUS condition with 95% bluing (some spotting on bands) and all-matching numbers. Rear sight has Western numerals, includes cleaning-rod. Perfect mirror-bore, gorgeous stock with bold cartouches and a couple minor nicks from storage (virtually invisible). SWEDISH Model 94 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 9088 (6.5x55), mfg. by Waffenfabrik Mauser in 1895 with bent-bolt. Very Good condition, with 70% original bluing on all parts (more on receiver, less on smaller parts from carry). Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore, with added muzzle-extension required for importation. Bolt (and all bolt-parts) numbered 24, rest of rifle has all-matching numbers (88). Walnut stock & handguard has been sanded and refinished long ago, with some of the expected handling-marks and dents. Includes correct sling-buckle. Excellent condition, with 90% or better strong bluing on all metal parts. Has strong markings and a bright and strong bore (disk marked 6.50/2). All-matching numbers except rear sight and cleaning rod, magazine floorplate bears "crooked crown" rather than a serial number, firing-pin electropenciled 977 to match receiver. SWEDISH Model 38B Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 611393 (6.5x55), mfg. by Husqvarna in 1941 with bent bolt and threaded muzzle. Excellent condition, with 90% original bluing on all parts (some fading on barrel-bands). Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (disk marked 6.52/2). All-matching numbers (bolt-shroud and firing-pin electropenciled to match). Rear sight is calibrated for 100-600 meters. SWISS Model 1931 Schmidt-Rubin straight-pull carbine # 220503 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1953. All-matching numbers including magazine. Excellent condition with most original bluing and a near-perfect mirror-bore. Beech stock and handguard looks to have been refinished, as there is nowhere near as many of the usual dings by buttplate, stock stamped VII 53 beneath buttplate (no soldier's tag present). U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 3398079 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in December, 1944. Excellent condition with nearly full uniform light-gray Parkerizing on metal (bolt and operating rod darker) and having a gorgeous mirror-bore (original SA 1-45 barrel).
