When Mexico defaulted on the contract due to the Mexican Revolution these rifles were sold to Germany, which utilized them for aerial (plane to plane) combat and later on WWI German U-boats. The last example to appear on the U.S. market was in the Hoffman Collection (Old Town Station, 1999) where it quickly sold for $8,500. This example is significantly nicer in quality.
