AUSTRALIAN No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # C55423 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal in 1941. Near Excellent condition with excellent mirror-bright bore. All-matching numbers (bolt & rear-sight). Forestock has been cut-down by "Bubba" with loss of nosecap and barrel-band but rear-sight and rear handguard is intact. BRITISH No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # F10656 (.303 British) mfg. by Birmingham Small Arms in 1915. Good condition with little remaining bluing but decent mostly-bright bore. FINN Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle #BD2933 (7.62x54R), barrel mfg. by Tula in 1940, barrel-shank stamped [SA] and PUOLUSTUSLAITOS as well as 41. Very Good condition, with 50-60% thinning bluing throughout and round-receiver, hooded-post front sight. Force-matched bolt, bore is excellent and nearly mirror-bright. Excellent condition, with 95% bluing throughout and round-receiver, hooded-post front sight. Matching bolt-knob, bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Excellent condition, with 95+% bluing throughout and high-wall round-receiver with hooded-post front sight. Matching bolt, bore is excellent and mirror-bright though counterbored at muzzle. FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle #40940 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. by Belgium (B-marked) in 1942, receiver mfg. by Izhevsk in 1913. Excellent condition, with 93% deep bluing (wear evident only at corners and edges) with usual gorgeous mirror-bore and matching bolt-knob, slight plum hue on barrel. FINN Model 39 bolt-action Mosin-Nagant rifle #305611 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. by SAKO in 1970 with receiver maker markings effaced. Excellent-plus condition with 99% bluing and an excellent mirror-bright bore. Matching bolt-knob, decent buttstock with only a few of the usual handling-marks including a heavy ding on left side above trigger. Includes cleaning-rod and used green-leather sling. ITALIAN Model 41 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action infantry rifle #AI6026 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1942. Near Excellent condition with 90+% full bluing and an excellent, mirror-bright bore. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action rifle, Series 24, #14685 (6.5x50) mfg. at Kokura in c.1937. Excellent condition with full original bluing, all-matching parts (#685) except extractor (#4109), rear-sight (#444) and action-cover (#336). Mum ground (as usual), includes action-cover and cleaning-rod as well as correct leather sling in unusually nice shape. Bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Much "straw" color on trigger and springs. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action rifle, Series 25, #82198 (6.5x50) mfg. at Kokura in c.1937. Very Good condition with nearly all original bluing, all-matching parts (#198) except extractor (#230), intact-mum, includes action-cover and cleaning-rod. Bore very strong and somewhat bright. Allegedly a bringback captured at Leyte, Philippines with some battle-damage to wood including through and through bullet impacts and/or shrapnel, wood still has original finish. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action cavalry carbine #7468 (6.5x50) mfg. at Kokura in c.1906. A complete though mismatched example in Very Good condition with nearly all original bluing (barrel-bands, triggerguard & magazine floorplate turning to brown), excellent bright bore, mum ground as is typical. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle, Series 24, #2661 (7.7x58) mfg. at Kokura in early 1943. Excellent condition with nearly complete original bluing (triggerguard and magazine-floorplate turning to brown from carry), all matching bolt-numbers (#534), action-cover #840, bayonet-lug #661, ground mum. This type has metal cupped buttplate, peep rear sight with anti-aircraft "wings" attached, rear barrel-band with provision for monopod (but no monopod present), short cleaning-rod, plum bolt-handle and knurled safety. Excellent mirror-bright chrome-lined bore, original unsanded finish on wood with some dings and handling-marks (but less than usually found on these). Not import-marked. PHOTO . . . $175. C&R SOLD
JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka "last ditch" bolt-action rifle, Series 10, #695 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in early 1945. Very Good condition with nearly all original bluing turned to plum, all-matching numbers (#695), mum not ground but X'ed through. This type has wooden buttplate, fixed rear sight, stamped and welded barrel-bands, no provision for cleaning-rod, cylindrical bolt handle, welded safety, and short handguard. Receiver is machined for dust-cover. Surprisingly excellent shiny bore, wood appears to have been lightly sanded in the distant past with few handling-marks since. Not import-marked. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka "last ditch" bolt-action rifle, Series 40, #68306 (7.7x58) mfg. at Jinsen in early 1945. Very Good condition with nearly all original bluing turned to plum, mum ground but partially visible, bore excellent and mirror-bright. Mismatched numbers, bolt-body #431, safety & firing-pin both #550. This type has no front-sight guards, wooden buttplate, fixed rear sight, stamped and welded barrel-bands, no provision for cleaning-rod, cylindrical bolt handle, welded safety, and short handguard. PERSIAN Model 98/29 Mauser bolt-action rifle #T09671 (8x57), mfg. by Brno in 1934. Excellent-PLUS condition, with 96% or better bluing, excellent mirror-bore, gorgeous lion-crest. All-matching numbers throughout (including bayonet). Nice walnut stock and handguard, much less than usual handling-marks, includes cleaning-rod and matching-numbered bayonet in excellent condition. Vivid tiger-striped Walnut stock and handguard, the usual minor handling and storage marks on wood and a couple scuffs on rear barrel-band but wood appears to retain original finish.
