AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action infantry rifle # 4726W (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr in 1917.  A rearsenaled long rifle in Excellent condition with 95% or better bluing with etched matching bolt. Bore is very bright and shiny and rifling is very sharp. Walnut buttstock has a few scratches, scuffs and dings from handling but very attractive.   Not import marked.  PHOTO . . . $425.   C&R    

BRITISH Model No.1 Mk.III* SMLE bolt-action rifle # G32204 (.303 British) mfg. by Birmingham Small Arms in 1917 with Australian ownership-marks, renumbered by them 127155 on right side of receiver and buttstock. Late cocking-piece, rear sight has wheel for windage-adjustment. Bolt-handle not matching, but fits and functions perfectly in this rifle,  Has a GREAT mirror bore and nice overall appearance. BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action rifle # 9C4775 (.303 British) mfg. in the U.S.A. by Savage-Stevens but in 1942 which has been converted to a No.1 (T) SNIPER by Holland & Holland before the end of WWII.   Excellent-PLUS condition, with over 98% military oil-blackened finish, all-matching numbers, and a gorgeous mirror 4-groove bore.  Has lower scope-mount pads and wooden cheek-piece, 3-marked bolt-head, early round cocking-knob, nice dark wood stock with Canadian cartouche (broad-arrow inside large C) on forend. BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # BH3655 (.303 British) mfg. at BSA Shirley in 1945. Very Good to Excellent condition, with 90% intact military oil-blacked finish on metal. All matching numbers (numbers on magazine lined-out and stamped to match) with strong 5-groove bore and 0-marked bolt-head.  Wood has quite a very few handling marks.  PHOTOS . . . $475.   C&R    SOLD

CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action rifle # B5666 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  Excellent condition, with 95% or better deep bluing.  Bolt (and all bolt parts) matching receiver, all other parts (including stock) mismatched. Has strong Chilean crest above chamber, rear of receiver has bold 7.62 above N.  Strong but not very bright bore, walnut stock (with 1895-dated cartouche) has original finish with quite a few dings, dents and other handling-marks. CZECH Model vz24 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 6782D2 (8x57) mfg. by CZ in 1928.  Excellent PLUS condition, a rearsenaled example with 3-line legend above chamber and electropenciled straight-bolt.  100% arsenal reblue with nicely figured walnut buttstock. FINN Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 58090 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. in 1944 by Tikka on a round receiver. Excellent-PLUS condition with 98% bluing . Matching number on bolt-body, bore is mirror-bright and very strong, includes cleaning-rod. Two-piece Finn "potbelly" stock has very few handling marks. Includes correct green-leather sling. FRENCH Model M-16 Berthier bolt-action infantry rifle # FJ47555 (8x50R Lebel), mfg. by St. Ettienne in 1917.  Near Excellent condition, bore is very strong and bright, quite a few handling-marks on stock but is sound although missing rear sling swivel. GERMAN Model Gewehr 1871/84 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 2317 (11mm) mfg. by Spandau in 1887 with 31 1/2" barrel.  A choice Excellent-Plus example, all-matching numbers, full strong bluing with receiver "in the white" and a near-perfect mirror bore.  Buttstock has original finish with razor-sharp cartouches (including Prussian stamps) and a prominent "fiddleback" figure throughout the wood.  Some dings and occasional bumps in the wood and a couple minor abrasions on barrel-bands but otherwise AS ISSUEDPHOTOS . . . $1475.   Antique, no FFL required    SOLD

GERMAN Model 98k bolt-action rifle # 7472r (8mm) mfg. by Mauser (factory code 42) in 1939.  A rearsenaled Russian-capture in excellent condition, with 100% bluing, electropenciled parts, shellac has been removed from laminated stock with faint Army cartouches. Bore is excellent and bright, swastikas on left side of receiver and both sides of barrel-shank very bold. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 5152d (8x57), mfg. by Sauer & Son  in 1941. Very Good or better condition, with 60-70% original bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore.  Appears to be a bring-back with intact Nazi markings and all-matching serial-numbers except for bolt (and all bolt-parts, numbered 6979f). Laminated stock & handguard has numbers matching receiver and intact Army cartouches. Includes front-sight hood, cleaning-rod and capture-screws. Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $675.   C&R    SOLD

GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 42488a (8x57) mfg. by Brno (code dot 44) in 1944.  Excellent condition, a "bringback" NOT a Russian-capture with all correct parts still intact. Metal has nearly 100% bluing except for stamped byf-marked triggerguard and magazine-floorplate, which has basically no bluing remaining. Bolt is from a commercial 98k and does NOT match.  Kriegsmodell white-glue laminated stock has stamped and welded bands screwed to stock, no provision for bayonet or cleaning rod. The bore is literally mirror-bright and as nice as you will ever see.  Some pitting on buttplate. Not import-marked.  PHOTO . . . $725.   C&R    SOLD

ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action short rifle # BA9706 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1941. Very Good condition, with 70% fading bluing, bore a bit rough but strong. Wood has been sanded and refinished, missing bayonet-lug. PHOTO . . . $250.   C&R   SOLD

LUXEMBOURG Model FN-49 Saive semiautomatic rifle # 4527 (.30-06) mfg. by Fabrique National  in c.1955.  Excellent condition with 90% or better original finish, all-matching numbers, bore is mirror-bright and virtually perfect, AL stamped above chamber.  Walnut stock and handguard has original finish with some attractive figure in the wood with a few scrapes and other handling marks. Only 6,000 FN-49 rifles were made for Luxembourg, and .30-06 is the most desirable chambering in this model rifle. PHOTO . . . $1275.   C&R   SOLD

MEXICAN Model 1910 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 34119 (7x57), mfg. by Fabrica Nacional de Armas in 1934 with 29" barrel. Good Plus overall condition with 30% or so thinning blue. This actually has a matching bolt, but of course is missing its cleaning-rod.  Mexican crest above chamber a bit weak but visible. Bore is dark and rough with slight bulge 3" from muzzle, headspace within limits. Buttstock  has that thick Arisaka-type of "sappy" varnish plus some handling-marks and a few bumps with a sewn-on sling.  PHOTO . . . $160.    C&R    SOLD

POLISH Model wz 48 Mosin-Nagant single-shot bolt-action training rifle # AB06139 (.22 LR) mfg. by Radom in 1954. Very Good condition with 70% bluing on all metal parts and an excellent bright and strong bore. All-matching numbers, wood has quite a few handling-marks and scuffs. RUSSIAN Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 104777 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1933 and re-issued to the Soviet Ministry of Defense in 1950. Excellent-PLUS arsenal-refurbished condition with 99% or better bluing on all metal parts and a very bright and strong bore. All-matching STAMPED numbers, dated 1933/50 with MO markings atop barrel-shank. Wood has 1 in Triangle cartouche on right side (indicating East German use), several scratches and dings on both sides.  Includes correct web sling with leather swivels, no cleaning-rod. RUSSIAN Model 91/30 RESTORED Mosin-Nagant bolt-action PU SNIPER rifle # BT3059 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1943.  Excellent-PLUS arsenal-refurbished condition with 99% or better bluing on all metal parts and a very bright and strong bore. All-matching STAMPED numbers (the bolt and floorplate lacking the letter-prefix), the scope has excellent optics and is not a repro. Includes leather lens-caps and fabric scope cover as well as correct sling. In my opinion this is an arsenal-refurbished ex-sniper that has been carefully and skillfully restored with an original PU scope and mount. PHOTOS . . . $650.    C&R   SOLD

RUSSIAN Model 38 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # KM2568 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1944. Excellent rearsenaled condition with 100% or better bluing on all metal parts, bore is a bit dark and has been counterbored (as usual) at muzzle. All matching Russian serial numbers (number on magazine-floorplate and buttplate lined-out and stamped to match). Buttstock has groove for bayonet and a few handling-marks. Includes cleaning-rod. SIAMESE Model 1903 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 15053 (8x56 Siamese), mfg. by Koishikawa Arsenal  in 1903 with straight-bolt.  Near Excellent condition, with 90% or better original bluing on all parts. Includes sliding action-cover but no cleaning rod. Bore is very bright with strong rifling, western numerals 6702655 etched on left side of receiver (likely somebody's phone number). Walnut stock and handguard has many scratches, dings and handling-marks but has never been subjected to sandpaper or other refinishing. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $375.   C&R    SOLD

SPANISH Model 1916 Mauser bolt-action short rifle, first variation (with lange "rollercoaster" rear sight) # L3211 (7x57), mfg. by Oviedo  in 1925.  Very Good condition, with 70% fading bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a frosted bore with strong rifling. Triggerguard renumbered to match receiver, bolt mismatched but of the correct type with acceptable headspace. Walnut stock and handguard looks to have been sanded and refinished long ago. Unusual, as most 1916 short rifles seen today have the later tangent rear sight.  PHOTOS . . . $325.   C&R 

SWEDISH Model 94 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 21110 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf  in 1903 with bent-bolt.  Excellent condition, with 90% original bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore with the usual muzzle-extension (required for importation under the old 18" rules).  All matching numbers (parts stamped 110) except rear sight (298), nose-cap not numbered and curiously either polished bright or chrome-plated. Streaked stock has original finish with lots of handling-marks, has sling-buckle with cut-down Swedish rifle sling. Unit-disk stamped 10 A1 / No. 314. Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $875.   C&R 

SWEDISH Model 94/14 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 1059 (6.5x55), mfg. by Mauser  in 1895 with bent-bolt.  Excellent condition, with 95% original bluing on all parts.  Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore, without the usual muzzle-extension.  All matching numbers (all parts stamped 59). Walnut stock has nicely done arsenal repair at toe and almost no handling-marks. Unit-disk stamped 3 K5 / No. 18. Includes sling and sling-buckle. SWEDISH Model 94/14 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 100666 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf  in 1918 with bent-bolt.  Very Good condition, with 70% original bluing on all parts (bluing on barrel-bands, triggerguard and magazine-floorplate a bit worn from carry). Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore, without the usual muzzle-extension.  All matching numbers (parts ominously stamped 666). Beech stock has original finish with lots of handling-marks, missing sling-buclkle. Unit-disk stamped I 16 / No. 894. Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $850.   C&R 

SWEDISH Model 96 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 273873 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf  in 1910 with straight-bolt and unthreaded muzzle.  Near Excellent condition, with 80% original bluing on all large parts (barrel-bands, magazine floorplate and triggerguard a bit faded from carry). Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (disk marked 6.50/1).  All-matching numbers except cleaning rod (715). SWEDISH Model 38 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 601004 (6.5x55), mfg. by Husqvarna  in 1941 with bent bolt and unthreaded muzzle. Excellent condition, with 95% original bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore.  All-matching numbers (bolt-shroud not numbered). T-type rear sight is calibrated for 150-600 meters. Unit-disk stamped I 9 / No. 1424. Stock has hairline crack at tang and has been lightly sanded, with very few handling-marks since. PHOTOS . . . $450.   C&R

SWEDISH Model 41 SNIPER rifle # 225453 (6.5x55) mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1908This is not one of the more common 41B snipers, the difference being (a) the bolt is in the white like a regular 96 rifle, but with a bent handle, (b) rear-sight is of the 96 type, (c) the stock-disc is of the two-screw unit-type, and (d) used an AGA m/42 3x65 scope in a Jackenroll upper and lower mount that were numbered but did not ever match the rifle's serial # (see Kehaya & Poyer, The Swedish Mauser Rifle, pages 173-175).   Near Excellent condition, with 85% bluing (some wear on triggerguard and magazine-floorplate from carry) and a near-perfect mirror-bore.  All-matching numbers (including wood, which is how I found out what the full serial # was) except magazine floorplate (083) and rear sight (310), cleaning-rod not numbered. Stock-disk reads 17 / K / No.719.  Stock and handguard are of  walnut with faint tigerstripe figure only a few contact-marks from adjacent rifles. 1942-dated AGA 3x65 scope has a three-post reticule and quite decent optics. Original non-refurbished Swede snipers are quite rare, not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $1500.    C&R   SOLD

SWEDISH Model 41 SNIPER rifle # 459515 (6.5x55) mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1918. Excellent condition, with 90% or better bluing and a near-perfect mirror-bore.  All-matching numbers (including wood, which is how I found out what the full serial # was), cleaning-rod not numbered. Stock-disk reads 6.5x55 SWEDISH MAUSER.  Beech stock and handguard has been nicely refinished, with virtually no handling-marks since. Trophy plate has been removed from left side, leaving nine small tack-holes. 1942-dated AGA 3x65 scope has a three-post reticule and quite decent optics. Original non-refurbished Swede snipers are quite rare, not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $1850.    C&R   

SWISS Model 1881 Vetterli bolt-action infantry rifle # 219766 (10.4mm Swiss rimfire) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in c.1885. Very Good condition, all-matching numbers (and every part is numbered). All original case-hardened finish has mostly turned brown. Bore is very rough and pitted, but shootable. Wood is walnut with its original finish (cartouches clear) having only a few handling-marks and dings. Missing cleaning-rod, not import-marked.   PHOTOS . . . $225.  Antique, no FFL required    SOLD

U.S.A. Model of 1917 "Enfield" bolt-action rifle # 510079 (.30-06) mfg. by Remington in 1918 with R / 8-18 marked barrel. An original example in Excellent condition with 95% or better high-gloss blued finish.  Bore is bright and very strong. Wood has very few handling-marks, with a few heavy dings on bottom of fore-end Canadian cartouche (broad-arrow inside C)  on right side. YUGOSLAVIAN Model 48A Mauser bolt-action rifle # P1795 (8mm) mfg. by Zastava in c.1952. Excellent condition, a large-ring intermediate-length Mauser with 99% or better original bluing on the metal surfaces and a sharp mirror-bore. Sharp Tito-era Yugoslavian crest above chamber. All-matching numbers, with stamped triggerguard and magazine-floorplate, knob of bolt has flattened bottom. Stock and handguard are a bit roughly finished with some scratches and dings.
