    ARGENTINE Model 1891 Mauser bolt-action rifle # D0024 (7.65x54) mfg. by Loewe in 1892.  Excellent condition, with 95% or better deep bluing. All parts matching receiver, including cleaning rod. Crest above chamber NOT ground off but is very bold and clear. Bore excellent and extremely bright with very strong rifling. Stock has original finish with intact cartouche and a few scuffs and dings over the past 109 years,  Features short handguard.     BRITISH Martini-Enfield Mark I short-lever single-shot cavalry carbine # 636 (.577/450) mfg. by Enfield in 1882. Excellent condition, metal browned, bore is extremely strong and mirror-bright. Includes cleaning rod. Wood is much nicer than usually seen, clear Enfield cartouche on right side of butt and unit-marking VIC COV in circle above 636 on left side, a gouge on each side and usual handling-marks.     BRITISH Martini-Henry Mark II short-lever single-shot rifle, # 1726 atop barrel-flat (.577/450) mfg. by Birmingham Small Arms & Munitions in 1889. Very Good condition, a quite nice example with nearly full external finish. The bore is dark but has very strong rifling, cleaning rod missing.  The stock has been arsenal-repaired (lengthened?) about 2" in front of buttplate. Functional, a nice shootable Martini.     BRITISH Martini-Henry Mark IV long-lever single-shot rifle without serial number (.577/450) mfg. by Enfield in 1886. Good condition with no external finish and some mottling at top of barrel. All original (not a Khyber-pass copy) and functional with a quite bright bore that has strong rifling. Original stock sound with a few thin cracks. Includes cleaning rod.     BRITISH Pattern 14 bolt-action rifle # 236444 (.303 British) mfg. by Remington in 1915. Very Good or better condition, a nice example with most Parkerizing intact and has a very bright and strong bore. Number stamped on underside of bolt handle matches receiver, volley-sights missing (as usual). Has original walnut stock with many of the expected handling-marks.     BRITISH No.1 Mk.III* Enfield bolt-action rifle # M59115 (.303 British) a "dispersal" rifle mfg. by B.S.A. Shirley in 1941. Excellent arsenal-refinished condition, with 100% phosphate finish and a strong and mostly bright 4-groove bore. All matching numbers, wood has no finish and appears to have been pressure-cleaned.     BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # Y1273 (.303 British) mfg. at Fazakerly in October 1946.  Excellent-PLUS condition, with 100% intact military stoving (glossy black paint) on metal. All matching numbers with a strong mirror-bright 5-groove bore and 1-marked bolt-head. Wood looks nearly new with a few minor compressions and a couple small scratches.     CANADIAN Enfield CNo.4 Mk.I* bolt-action rifle # 95L8095 (.303 British) mfg. by Long Branch arsenal in 1950. Excellent condition, metal has full finish, stock has quite a few dings and handling-marks but is sound and has not ever been sanded.  Bore is mirror-bright and gorgeous 4-groove type, bolt-head stamped with #0. Magazine has little finish but is stamped 958095 to match rifle. Rear sight is of the milled ladder type. PHOTOS . . . $425.    C&R 

    DUTCH Model 1871/88 Beaumont-Vitali rifle # 148Q (11x52R) mfg. by P. Stevens, Maastricht in 1876. Very Good condition, with an excellent, mirror bright strong rifled bore. External metal was "in the white" and has mostly turned brown and shows some wear from actual use, wood retains original finish with faint but visible cartouche of crowned W (for King William III, reigned 1849-1890) MAASTRICHT above and date 1875 at sides. All-matching numbers (148). Mechanically sound (including the magazine-disconnect), no cleaning-rod (as usual). I would not hesitate to shoot it this rifle if I had any ammo at all (.43 Egyptian ammo can be safely used if no Beaumont ammo can be found). Not import-marked.     DUTCH Model 1895 Mannlicher bolt-action carbine # 4236C (6.5x53R) mfg. by Steyr in 1900. Excellent-PLUS condition, with 95% bluing. All matching numbers, bore is strong and mirror bright. Buttstock and handguard is walnut in excellent condition with only a few very minor handling-marks and very strong 1900-dated STEYR cartouche on right side.  Not import-marked, a much nicer example than is usually encountered.     DUTCH Model 1895 Mannlicher bolt-action infantry rifle # 1736GG (6.5x53R) mfg. by Hembrug in 1917. Excellent condition, with 95% bluing (receiver has been highly polished). All matching numbers except for cocking-knob, bore is strong and mirror bright. Buttstock (which has been duffle-cut and repaired) and handguard is walnut in excellent condition with only a few very minor handling-marks and very strong 1917-dated HEMBRUG cartouche on right side.  Not import-marked.     FRENCH Model 1917 RSC semiautomatic rifle # F41613 (8x50R Lebel), mfg. by Tulle in November, 1917. Excellent-PLUS condition with a strong, mirror-bright bore. All matching serial numbers, gorgeous metal and wood, includes one correct five-round magazine. Two bullet-strikes on left side (one a minor nick on metal by safety, the other on buttstock patched with wooden arsenal-repair).  Has NOT been converted to single shot, but functions in semiautomatic mode. Stock has original finish eveidenced by very strong cartouche dated November 1917 on right side.  Extremely rare, this is the very first semiautomatic rifle to be issued for service in any army and very few survived.  See "Proud Promise", pages 41-48.     FRENCH Model 1949/56 MAS semiautomatic rifle # H71723 (7.5x54 MAS), mfg. by St. Ettienne in c.1962. Excellent condition with a strong, mirror-bright bore.     GREEK Model 1903 Mannlicher-Schoenauer bolt-action infantry rifle # 1939TH (6.5x54 M/S) mfg. by Steyr in 1907. Yes, folks, this is the full-military version of the famed M/S rifle with its rotary magazine. Very Good condition with much mottled bluing remaining and Greek crest on the receiver is still very sharp. Bolt is mismatched (they always are, for some unknown reason), bore is mostly bright and very strong. Includes its cleaning-rod and leather sling.  PHOTOS Rare as Hell, not import-marked. . . $825.    C&R  SOLD

    GREEK Model 1930 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # H6167 (8x57) mfg. by Fabrique National in 1930. Excellent-PLUS condition, with nearly pristine external metal and very bold Greek crest atop chamber. The bore excellent and is mirror-bright.  Has usual mismatched bolt (in excellent condition, and a proper FN bolt), includes cleaning-rod. Buttstock and handguard have a few bashes but else few of the usual handling-marks.  Neat serial number stamped on right side and "Kingdom of the Hellenes" cartouche on left side (which is almost never present). Includes leather sling which may or may not be proper for this rifle.  Not import-marked, if I was told one of these existed in this quality I would have doubted it until now, as when these are encountered they are almost always worn as can be.     ISRAELI Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 627860 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by Fabrique National in the mid-1950's. Very Good condition, with 80% or so bluing (fading to brown on small parts) and usual mismatched bolt (however it is a proper FN 98k bolt). Top of receiver stamped with massive Star of David IDF logo. Bore is bright and extremely strong, some external light pitting at the wood line. Wood is beech with a dull finish and a few handling marks and a large 7.62 stamped in bottom but is sound despite stable crack behind triggerguard.     JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 28, # 38149 (6.5x50) mfg. at Kokura in c.1940. Very Good condition with most original bluing remaining, magazine floorplate browned from carry. Mum has been ground, all parts are numbered 149. This type has ladder v-type rear sight and includes cleaning rod but no sliding action-cover. Bore is mostly bright and very strong, wood has original finish with many stamps as well as dings, scrapes, gouges and other contact-marks from actual service use but has never been sanded.     JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 34 # 26047 (7.7x58) mfg. at Toyo Kogyo in c.1944. Excellent condition with full original bluing, all matching serial numbers (147).     PARAGUAY Model 09 Mannlicher bolt-action short rifle # 8039 (7x57mm) mfg. by C. G. Haenel, Suhl in 1914. Only Good condition, nearly all original bluing worn with pitting at wood-line. This is a rare transitional 7mm rifle that has elements of Mannlicher and Mauser designs. Bore is very strong and mirror-bright, bolt not matching (but is of correct type). Stock and handguard has dings from use and storage with original finish. Includes cleaning-rod and brown leather sling.     PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # Y2004 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1931. Excellent condition, with all-matching numbers and MATCHING NUMBERED BAYONET. Excellent or better condition, full bluing with bold Persian lion-cartouche above chamber. Internally perfect with a mirror-perfect bore, wood is walnut with some figure in the grain with some contact-marks and abrasions from palletizing and a couple small inventory-stamps.  PHOTOS . . . $625.    C&R   SOLD

    PERUVIAN Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 24108 (.30-06) mfg. by Fabrique National in mid-1930's. Very Good condition, with about 80% original blue, all matching numbers with a strong very bright bore and bent-bolt with flat checkered bottom. Crest is not very strongly struck but is clear, stock and handguard has dings from use and storage with original finish, some scratches at bottom of magazine-floorplate and triggerguard. Has been re-bored from its original 7.65x53 Argentine to .30-06 by the Peruvian military. Includes cleaning-rod and black leather sling. PHOTO . . . $575.   C&R   SOLD

    RUSSIAN Model SVT-38 Tokarev semiautomatic rifle # YK288 (7.62x54R), mfg. at Izhevsk in 1939. Good to Very Good original condition with wear to blued parts and a somewhat crusty bore (that may clean up) with strong rifling. Numbers all matching except magazine (which is a correct SVT-38 mag) and triggerguard, receiver grooved for scope-mount. Features 12-slotted muzzle-break and matching-numbered stock and handguard (showing a great deal of scratches, a few gouges and other handling-marks but is sound with no cracks or other issues).     RUSSIAN Model 44 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # HE4471 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1945. Very Good or better original condition (NOT a refurb) with most bluing present and all matching STAMPED numbers (including letter prefixes).     SWISS Model 1869/71 Vetterli bolt-action infantry rifle # 87400 (10.4mm Swiss rimfire) mfg. by S. I. G. in c.1872. Near Excellent condition, all-matching numbers (and every part is numbered). Original finish a bit browned but essentially as nice as these early rifles ever get. Bore is mirror-bright with very strong rifling. Wood is walnut with checkered forend and retains its original finish (cartouches clear) having only a few minor handling-marks and dings. Includes cleaning-rod. Not import-marked.     SWISS Model 1881 Vetterli bolt-action infantry rifle # 215118 (10.4mm Swiss rimfire) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in c.1882. Excellent condition, all-matching numbers (and every part is numbered). All original blued finish essentially as nice as these ever get. Bore has some pitting in the grooves but very strong rifling.     SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin short rifle # 889445 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1947 with MATCHING NUMBERED BAYONET. Near Excellent or better condition, with nearly full external bluing. All-matching numbers including magazine and bayonet. Wood is beech with the usual handling-marks. Model of 1903 Mark I Springfield bolt-action rifle # 1132197 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1919 with its original 11-19 dated SA barrel.  Near Excellent condition with 80% gray Parkerizing on all metal, has slot in left side of receiver for the rare Pedersen device. A gorgeous example with near-perfect 4-groove bore and lightly sanded original Mark I walnut stock with faint WJS and AA (Augusta Arsenal) cartouches on left side. Not import-marked.     U.S.A. Model of 1941 Johnson semiautomatic rifle # 1245 (.30-06) mfg. by Johnson Automatics in 1941. Stock is in great condition with original finish, includes leather Kerr-type sling, plus SPARE .30-06 BARREL in excellent condition and the rare BAYONET (but no scabbard).
