CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # C6196 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895. Very Good condition, with 60-70% original fading bluing and all-matching numbers (including bolt) with very weak Chilean crest above chamber. COLOMBIAN Model 47 bolt-action rifle # 6181-58 (.30-06), mfg. by Madsen in 1958. Excellent condition, with 95% or better original black-painted finish, bore is mirror-perfect. Stock has medallion inset on left side with a few scuffs from handling but little apparent wear. Includes original leather sling. FINN Model 91 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 38570 (7.62x54R) mfg. at Sestroryetsk in 1896 with Finnish [SA] property-marks on left side of barrel-shank. Very Good condition with most bluing fading on metal parts. Bore is very strong and somewhat bright (counterbored at muzzle), Czarist eagles intact on barrel-shank. Very Good condition with most bluing faded or missing but has a somewhat strong and bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Matching bolt, numbers on magazine-floorplate and buttplate scrubbed. UNISSUED condition with 100% bluing on all metal parts and a perfect bore, WWI Austrian capture-marks (OEWG) on top flat of receiver. Matching bolt-knob, numbers on magazine-floorplate and buttplate not matching or scrubbed (as usual). Includes cleaning-rod. Two-piece new-looking postwar stock (squared finger-joints) has a couple small round plugs right side with virtually no handling-marks. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 2137o (8x57) mfg. by Mauser (code byf) in 1942. An all-original MATCHING non-import rifle in Near Excellent condition, with 80% bluing, all matching numbers including bolt, stock and barrel-bands. Has solid front-band, milled rear band, triggerguard and magazine-floorplate. The bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Buttstock is solid hardwood with eagle over WaA135 cartouche and cupped buttplate, includes cleaning-rod and front sight-hood. ISRAELI Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 4739 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by Mauser Borsigwalde (code ar 43) in 1943. Excellent-PLUS arsenal-refurbished condition, with 95+% Parkerized finish and no matching-numbered parts (bolt renumbered by the Israelis to match receiver). Receiver stamped with Star of David, Nazi markings angrily obliterated. Bore is mirror-bright and extremely strong (looks like new). Wood is beech with 7.62 branded at bottom, remnants of Israeli inspection-sticker on left side. Includes front sight-hood and Israeli leather 98k sling, no cleaning-rod (stock is not routed for one). ITALIAN Model 1870 Vetterli bolt-action cavalry carbine # A3404 (10.4 Italian centerfire) mfg. by Torino in 1877 with long spike socket bayonet nestled beneath barrel. Very Good PLUS condition, original external finish browned with age. Bore is surprisingly quite strong and mirror-bright and rifle appears to be functional (even the rotating action-cover). Wood has considerable handling-marks but retains its original finish (also matching serial # to receiver). No import marks, extremely cute and seldom encountered. PHOTOS . . . $650. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action training rifle (no serial number). Excellent condition with much original bluing remaining (bottom of mag-floorplate and triggerguard browned from carry). Nippon Special Steel mark stamped atop chamber. Bore shows little to no traces of rifling remaining, suitable only for shooting blanks. Excellent arsenal-refurbished condition with 100% bluing on all metal parts and mirror-bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). All-matching numbers (bolt, magazine floorplate and buttplate electropenciled 4079 with no letter prefix), includes cleaning-rod. SPANISH Model FR-8 Mauser bolt-action tactical carbine # FR8-31201 (7.62x51) mfg. by La Coruņa in 1954. Excellent condition, with 95% Parkerized metal surfaces and a sharp mirror-bore. Matching bolt, crest atop receiver as strong as these get. Wood looks as if it has been lightly refinished with very few minor handling-marks since with plain figure to the grain. U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 2140420 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield Armory in November, 1943. A demilled and rewelded rifle, the front section of which was apparently an unissued International Harvester Garand with a LMR 9-53 barrel. Excellent-PLUS condition with full uniform dark-gray Parkerizing, the barrel having a bright chamber. Front and rear sights are National Match (the rear sight hooded) with a lovely trigger-job, action has been fitted to a gorgeous laminated stock and handguard in new condition with non-slip rubber buttpad.
