Original walnut grips are very sharp, the bore has a few old light deposits in it but is otherwise excellent and mirror-bright. The story from the soldier who captured / requisitioned this pistol is that it was all-matching when he acquired it, but the mags and sideplates from all captured sidearms were required to be removed while onboard the ship home to deactivate them and avoid gunplay aboard ship. When it came time to disembark the soldier looked diligently through the basket of parts and mags for those matching his pistol but it appeared someone out of the hundreds ahead of him in line just grabbed the first pieces they came across, among which were the sideplate and magazine that matched this pistol. He claimed to have never fired (or cleaned) this Luger in the last 55 years and had been looking (without success) for a sideplate numbered 31 ever since. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $1250.
