ARGENTINE Model 1909 Mauser bolt-action rifle # P0412 (7.65x53) mfg. by DWM in 1912.  Excellent condition, with 90% strong bluing on all parts (receiver in the white as it should be). Crest above chamber very bold, all-matching numbers (including cleaning-rod), bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Streaked walnut stock and handguard has quite a few handling-marks from contact with adjacent rifles. Not import-marked, a decent example of an original Argentine Mauser. PHOTOS . . . $500.   C&R 

BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.2 bolt-action rifle # PF318243 (.303 British) mfg. by Fazakerly in February 1954.  Excellent condition with some signs of actual service usage (stoving chipped on bottom of magazine). Perfect mirror-bore, nice metal, some dings on wood. All-matching numbers.  PHOTOS . . . $495.   C&R   SOLD

CANADIAN Enfield No.4 Mk.I* bolt-action rifle # 14L4819 (.303 British) mfg. by Long Branch arsenal in 1942.   Excellent condition, with full blued finish, all-matching numbers (including stock) with a #1 marked bolt-head.  2-groove bore is mirror-bright and strong (showing little if any actual use), L-shaped rear-sight (calibrated for 300 or 600 meters). Walnut stock and grooved handguards are sound with a few dings and handling-marks and is quite attractive.  New Zealand property-marked on left side of receiver and atop bolt-handle.  PHOTOS . . . $450.   C&R   SOLD

CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action rifle # G7162 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  Excellent condition, with 95% original deep bluing on all metal parts.   Chilean crest above chamber is very strong and clear.  All-matching numbers (including cleaning-rod).  Bore is exceptional and mirror-bright.  Lovely tigerstriped walnut stock having 1895-dated Chilean cartouche, was sanded and refinished sometime in the distant past. COLOMBIAN Model 47 bolt-action rifle # 2545-58 (.30-06),  mfg. by Madsen in 1958.   Excellent-PLUS  (literally UNISSUED) condition, with 100% original black-painted finish, bore is mirror-perfect.  Stock has a few very minor compressions on left side from handling but no apparent wear. This was the last military bolt-action designed for general use (complete with very effective muzzle-break and recoil-pad), not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $725.   Not C&R   SOLD

FRENCH Model 1886 M93 Lebel bolt-action infantry rifle # J89941 (8x50R Lebel) mfg. by Saint Etienne in 1889.  Very Good condition with near-perfect mirror-bore (N-marked barrel mfg. in 1889). Metal has nearly full oil-blacked finish, some pitting on left side of receiver and on buttplate, bolt mismatched (D48216), everything  else matching.  Wood has quite a few handling-marks with a large chip behind the rear barrel-band but is otherwise sound.   Rare. FRENCH Model 1916 Berthier bolt-action infantry rifle # FJ5250 (8x50R Lebel), mfg. by St. Ettienne in 1918.  Very Good condition, N-marked chamber, all matching numbers including stock, bore is amazingly bright and strong, metal has some rust under the wood, handguard has large scratch as well as a crack in front, quite a few handling-marks on stock but has original finish. FRENCH Model 1936 MAS bolt-action rifle # L20346 (7.5x54mm) mfg. by St. Ettienne around 1952. UNISSUED since arsenal rework, still wrapped in wax-impregnated cloth with March 1974 dated paperwork. PHOTOS . . . $325.  C&R    SOLD

ITALIAN Model 1870/87 Vetterli-Vitali  bolt-action infantry rifle #  C8078 (10.4mm Italian centerfire) mfg. by Torino in 1873.  Very Good PLUS condition, with the barrel having 80% bluing and the receiver (which was originally finished "in the white") is a mottled color (mostly browned). Unbelievably gorgeous bore, very bold and mirror-bright. Wood is tiger-striped walnut, with its original finish evidenced by bold silver-dollar sized 1888-dated cartouche on right side (when it was converted from single-shot to magazine-fed). Has side bayonet-mount, with what appears to be the original cleaning-rod. Includes black-leather sling with square brass buckle (which may or may not be original for this rifle). ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action short rifle # N4400 (7.35x53) mfg. by Terni in early 1939 (the XVII year of Mussolini). Near Excellent condition, [SA] stamped (Finn property-markings), stock has been replaced by one serialized I1425. Has an excellent bright bore, a few scuffs and dings with decent finish.   PHOTOS . . . $225.   C&R   

JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 5 # 26168 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in c.1942. Excellent condition with full original bluing, all-matching numbers, intact mum.  This type has ladder peep-sight with aircraft wings, no cleaning-rod, action-cover or monopod. Excellent chrome-lined mirror bore, wood has original finish and the expected handling-marks and compressions, no import-marks. PHOTO . . . $450.  C&R   SOLD

PERSIAN Model 98/29 Mauser bolt-action rifle # C00267 (8x57), mfg. by Brno in 1931 (A.H. 1309).  New, literally UNISSUED condition, with 100% bluing, action-bolts have flawless "straw" coloring. Has perfect mirror-bright bore and all-matching numbers, all markings clean with a magnificent lion-crest above chamber. Gorgeous Streaked Walnut stock has lovely original antique-furniture type finish with very few handling-marks (mostly compressions).  PHOTOS . . . $750.  C&R

RUSSIAN Model SVT-40 Tokarev semiautomatic rifle # HB6236 (7.62x54R), mfg. at Tula in 1941.  Excellent arsenal-refurbished condition with an unusually excellent bright bore. Numbers all matching except magazine, receiver grooved for scope-mount, features 4-slotted muzzle-break and AVT stock with small arsenal-repair on right side. SPANISH Model 1943 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # D3433 (8x57) mfg. at La Coruņa in 1946. Excellent condition, with 95% bluing, some wear evident on barrel-bands, triggerguard and magazine floorplate. All-matching numbers. Bore is strong and mirror-bright. Fiddleback walnut stock has only a few minor handling-marks, Diamond-shaped Civil-Guard cartouche on right side. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $325.  C&R  

SWEDISH Model 96B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 78586 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf  in 1922 with straight-bolt and threaded muzzle.  Excellent condition, with full bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (disk marked 6.48/1) with metal range-disk tacked on right side.  All matching numbers (except rear sight, 158, and cleaning rod, 246). Nice Beech stock & handguard with few of the expected handling-marks and compressions, includes correct front sight hood. This is apparently had its defective or damaged receiver replaced in 1922, as this serial number is for a much earlier rifle and it lacks the usual inspector-initials. SWEDISH Model 38B Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # 646517 (6.5x55), mfg. by Husqvarna in 1942 with bent-bolt and threaded muzzle.  Near Excellent condition, with 85% original bluing on all parts (browned at triggerguard and magazine floorplate from carry). Has a mirror-bright very strong bore (bore-disk indicating 6.51/3). Early rear sight has 100 meter zero. All-matching stamped numbers (a couple bolt parts unnumbered).  Beech stock & handguard seems to have its original finish, with quite a few handling-marks and scuffs. SWISS Model 1878 Vetterli bolt-action infantry rifle # 179731 (10.4mm Swiss rimfire) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in c.1878. Excellent condition, all-matching numbers (and every part is numbered). Original blued finish turning brown in some areas. Bore is mirror-bright with very strong rifling. Wood is walnut with its original finish (cartouches clear) with a few of the expected handling-marks and compressions. Includes cleaning-rod. SWISS Model 1911 Schmidt-Rubin infantry rifle # 353085 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1913. All-matching numbers including magazine.  Very Good PLUS condition with most original bluing (turning brown on barrel-bands, triggerguard and magazine from carry) and a near-perfect mirror-bore.  Walnut stock with tigerstriped handguard appears to have original finish with a few of the expected handling-marks from actual use, bolt handle chipped at top and bottom (as is common with these)  Not import-marked.  PHOTO  . . . $425.   C&R 

VENEZUELAN Model FN-49 Saive semiautomatic rifle # 7275 (7x57) mfg. by Fabrique National in c.1954.   EXCELLENT-PLUS condition, with 99% original painted finish (stoving) and excellent mirror-bright bore. All-matching numbers, Venezuelan crest on receiver is bold, with slotted muzzle-break.  Walnut stock has bold Venezuelan Army cartouche and only a couple very minor handling-marks from storage, but rifle appears never to have been issued.
