ARGENTINE Model 1909 Mauser bolt-action rifle # P4296 (.30-06) mfg. by DWM in 1912. Excellent condition, an arsenal rework with 99% original factory bluing and all-matching numbers. Receiver has been blued, but crest above chamber intact and very strong, has turned-down bolt. Bore is excellent and mostly-bright. Buttstock is dark walnut and with original unsanded finish with a few dings and scratches from handling and storage, no cleaning-rod. This rifle rechambered for .30-06 to take advantage of the free ammo "uncle Sugar" was providing to South America in the mid-1950's. PHOTO . . . $425. C&R SOLD
AUSTRALIAN No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # 74144 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal in 1917 with Australian Air Force property-marks on left side of chamber. Excellent condition with very bright and strong bore. Nice early "Lithgow shield" emblem on receiver. Bolt and rear sight matching receiver, forestock and nose-cap bears different numbers, FTR marked MA / 51 with 1951-dated barrel. Two small screws on left receiver may have been from a scope mount or something. Only a few of the expected handling-marks and compressions on wood along with "Ishie screw" through forend. AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action infantry rifle # 9778H (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr in 1917. A rearsenaled long rifle in Excellent condition with 95% or better bluing with matching parts that headspace correctly. Has Nazi acceptance-markings (WaA63) on both sides of receiver, right side of barrel-shank, front of triggerguard, and on wood at bottom of grip. Bore is sharp but not very bright, wood has a few scratches and scuffs from handling but very attractive. Not import marked. PHOTO . . . $895. C&R
BRITISH Lee Metford Mk. II bolt-action rifle # 1610 (converted from its original .303 to .22 Long Rifle) mfg. by Birmingham Small Arms Co. in c. 1900. An undated commercial Long Lee officially converted by Vickers in the late teens in Very Good overall condition. Has fully blued finish with very bright and strong bore. Top of barrel-shank marked VICKERS and REGULATED BY FULTON. Front and rear volley-sights have been removed but has magazine cut-off still attached. No magazine, rear sight has windage adjustment, muzzle stamped PARKERIFLED A.G.P. Bolt is matching receiver. Forend of buttstock officially trimmed, arsenal repairs to heel and toe of butt, else sound, missing rear sling-swivel. BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # O9762 (.303 British) mfg. in the U.S.A. by Savage-Stevens but has all original markings removed and replaced with F. R. 1963 R. F. I. indicating refurbishment at the Ishapore arsenal in 1963 Excellent-PLUS condition, with over 98% military oil-blackened finish, all-matching numbers, and a gorgeous mirror 2-groove bore. CHINESE Type 53 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # i6896 (7.62x54R), mfg. by Factory 26 in 1960. Excellent PLUS condition with 99% bluing, all-matching numbers except left side of stock, which looks to be an arsenal mistake (buttplate is matching). CZECH Model vz52 semiautomatic rifle # G67280 (7.62x45) mfg. by CZ in 1956. A gorgeous Excellent-PLUS example, all external metal has been professionally treated with black Duracoat and has a mirror-bright bore. Wood of stock and handguard are custom-made of tiger-striped maple (faithfully recreated along original military lines) and is absolutely gorgeous. Includes one 10-round magazine and web-sling. FRENCH Model 1907-15 Berthier bolt-action infantry rifle (8x50R Lebel), mfg. by Remington in 1918. Excellent condition with all original bluing intact, no serial number as these were never accepted by the French government. Gorgeous mirror-bright bore except for the last four inches or so, which is dark and pitted. Stock has only a couple minor marks and appears top have some pin-type repairs at the wrist. Includes correct spike-bayonet which has curiously been bent downwards about two inches from hilt (most likely to keep tip from being struck by fired projectiles). Not import-marked. FRENCH Model 1936 MAS bolt-action rifle # L5590 (7.5x54 MAS) mfg. by St. Ettienne after 1948. Excellent-PLUS arsenal-refurbished condition with 100% parkerized finish intact. Bolt matching receiver, other parts either do not match or are not numbered. Gorgeous mirror-bright bore, includes integral spike-bayonet. ITALIAN Model 1870/87/16 Vetterli-Vitali bolt-action infantry rifle # GD2414 (6.5x52 Carcano) mfg. by Torino in 1883. Very Good condition, much of the metal browned from age. Bore is actually quite strong and mostly bright and rifle appears to be functional. Wood has quite a few dings but retains original finish with a large bold 1917-dated refurbishment cartouche on its left side, includes cleaning-rod. No import marks, not recommended for shooting. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle series 1 # 8662 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in c.1940. Excellent condition with full original bluing and gorgeous INTACT mum. All-matching numbers (including action-cover). This type has ladder peep-sight with its aircraft wings, includes action-cover and monopod but is missing its cleaning rod. Excellent chrome-lined mirror bore, wood has never never sanded with original finish with considerable sings, scrapes, gouges and other contact-marks from actual service use. Not import-marked. SWEDISH Model 94/14 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 82399 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1916 with bent-bolt. Excellent condition, with 90% original bluing on all parts (bluing on triggerguard and magazine-floorplate worn from carry). Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore, with added muzzle-extension required for importation. Bolt-knob numbered 934, bolt-parts numbered 803, rest of rifle has all-matching numbers (399). Beech stock & handguard has been recently sanded, with virtually no handling-marks since. U.S.A. Model 1842 Springfield single-shot infantry musket (.69 caliber) mfg. by Springfield Arsenal in 1851. A correct as-issued (and unaltered) rifle in Good condition, with some pitting atop rear of barrel and a fair to poor bore. 100% functional. wood retains its original finish and has the expected handling-marks from actual use.
