ARGENTINE Model 1879 EN Rolling-Block single-shot full-length infantry rifle (11x58mm, aka .43 Spanish), mfg. by Remington Arms in c.1880.  Very Good condition, with most external metal browned from oxidation. Bore is extremely strong and quite bright. Sound wood stock shows actual use (with initials L.D. carved in right side) with some of the expected dings, scratches & handling-marks. ARGENTINE Model 1891 Mauser bolt-action engineer's carbine # A2267 (7.65x54) mfg. by Loewe in 1893. Very Good condition, with 70% fading bluing and a strong national crest above chamber. All matching serial numbers except for stock, bore is mostly bright with very strong rifling. Stock has large arsenal repair at toe and retains its original 124 year-old leather sling. BRAZIL Model 1908 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 4080Oo (7x57) mfg. by DWM, Oberndorf in c.1914.   Very Good, with around 80% bluing (including receiver). Bolt not matching. Bore is excellent and mostly bright, Brazilian crest is bold and attractive.  Includes cleaning-rod missing.  Walnut stock has many scratches and handling marks from actual service use, chip on heel near buttplate. BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1 Lee-Enfield bolt-action rifle # CC22684A (.303 British) mfg. by Fazakerly in 1942, and fresh from a Factory Thorough Repair (FTR) at  Fazakerly in May, 1943,  Excellent-PLUS condition, essentially UNISSUED since refurbishment with 100% metal finish and all-matching parts. 4-groove bore os near professionally fitted with a new 2-10 x 44 power SIMMONS Whitetail Classic scope (professionally sighted in), can easily be brought back to stock configuration be reinstalling the included rear sight. Has 2-marked bolt-head, rear sight (in attached bag) is of the milled ladder type.  Includes original spike bayonet and plastic scope covers. CANADIAN Model 1905 Mark I  ROSS straight-pull bolt-action rifle (.303 British) mfg. in Quebec in 1905-1910. Excellent, military stock has been sporterized with a black forend fitted and handguard taken off.  A ramp front-sight has been added but at least they didn't apparently cut any metal. Has original complicated leaf-sight (stamped  CANADIAN TOOL AND SPECALTY, NEW GLASGOW, N.B. on the back) and utilizes the novel "Harris Controlled Platform Magazine". CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action saddle-ring carbine # A6491 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895 with bent bolt.  Good to Very Good functional condition, with little remaining bluing on metal parts (but no pitting). Chilean crest above chamber is a bit weak but clear. No matching numbers, bore is strong and mirror bright. CHILEAN Model 1912 Mauser bolt-action long rifle # D7266 (7x57) mfg. by Steyr in 1912.  Excellent condition with 95% bluing (receiver in the white, barrel-bands show wear), all-matching serial numbers. Strong and mostly very bore, slightly weak Chilean crest above chamber. Tigerstriped walnut stock has glossy finish (with clear cartouche) with many small dings and scratches. CHINESE Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 4M939 (8x57) mfg. by Hangyang Arsenal in 1939. A copy of the Gewehr 88 rifle in Very Good condition, with 60% or so browned and fading bluing. No matching serial numbers, has Swastika and Chinese numbers 28 & 2 above chamber. Bore is dark with lots of crud in the grooves but has strong rifling, stock is very dry with cracks at tang and a large oval cartouche on left right side. Includes cleaning rod. COLOMBIAN Model 47 bolt-action rifle # 3548-58 (.30-06),  mfg. by Madsen in 1958.   Excellent-PLUS condition, with 98% original black-painted finish, bore is mirror-perfect.  Stock has a few small dings and very little apparent wear. This was the last military bolt-action designed for general use (complete with very effective muzzle-break and recoil-pad), not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $950.      C&R     SOLD

EGYPTIAN "Rasheed" semiautomatic carbine # 6129 (7.62x39), mfg. at Maadi  in 1968. Near Excellent condition, with 80% or better external bluing and a mirror chrome-line bore. FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 240281 (7.62x54R), the barrel mfg. by SAKO in 1943, the receiver made by Sestroryetsk in 1897. Very Good condition with 60% fading original bluing, mirror-perfect bore and matching bolt. FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 43898 (7.62x54R) mfg. by VKT in 1941 on a 1910-dated Izhevsk receiver.  Good condition with very little bluing remaining, bore is strong and quite bright. FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 73703 (7.62x54R) mfg. by VKT in 1944 on a scrubbed receiver.  Good condition with very little bluing remaining, bore is strong and quite bright. FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 46569 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. by Tikka in 1943.  Excellent-PLUS condition with full bluing. Bore is mirror-bright and looks new (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Matching bolt-knob (6569), numbers on magazine floorplate and buttplate not matching or scrubbed (as usual). Includes cleaning-rod. Two-piece transitional stock (pointed finger-joints) has virtually ZERO handling-marks and looks new with VERY attractive grain.  Quite scarce with Tikka barrel. PHOTOS . . . $800.    C&R   SOLD

FRENCH Model 1866 Chassepot bolt-action needlefire rifle # R7110 (11mm linen cartridge) mfg. by Tulle in 1867.  Very Good condition, has been through arsenal refurb long (about 140 years) ago and has Belgian proofs on barrel.   No matching serial numbers, bore is very bright with strong rifling. Bolt retains its needlefire design (has not been converted to metallic cartridge) and is fully functional. Very Good condition with much original bluing with some light verdigris adhering in places, mixed serial (or assembly) numbers, intact mum. Strong bright bore, missing cleaning rod. JAPANESE Type 44 Arisaka bolt-action carbine # 58370 (6.5x50) mfg. at Koishikawa in c.1911. Near Excellent condition with 95% or better original finish remaining. Bolt not matching (984), mum has been ground (as usual).  Very strong and surprisingly bright bore. Stock looks to have had BLO or som,ething applied but has never bee sanded (with many handling marks, especially on the left side).  Functional and complete with attached spike-bayonet. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 25 # 22165 (7.7x58) mfg. at Kokura in January-Fall 1945. Very Good condition with faded original bluing, plum-handled bolt not matching, mum ground (as usual). This type has fixed peep rear sight and inverted V front sight without guards, no provision for cleaning rod, wooden buttplate. Bore is not chrome-lined but is very bright. Tigerstriped stock was lightly sanded long ago. Not import-marked, very attractive. PHOTO . . . $325.    C&R

PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # C02139 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1939. Excellent condition, with all-matching numbers. Internally perfect with a mirror-perfect bore, wood is walnut with some contact-marks and abrasions from palletizing and a couple small inventory-stamps.  PHOTOS  . . . $675.   C&R     SOLD

POLISH Model K98 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 6229E (8x57), undated, a small-ring Mauser short rifle mfg. by Warsaw between the wars with bent-bolt, arsenal-refurbished by the Spain during their civil war in the mid-1930's.  Excellent condition, with 96% blued finish on all parts, vivid fire-bluing on trigger, bolt-release, magazine floorplate and action bolts.  bore is dark with strong rifling. Has matching bolt, includes cleaning-rod. Stock has very bold Spanish Civil War cartouche (MP over 8 inside of flaming bomb) on right side. Not import marked, and quite attractive. PORTUGUESE Model 904/39 Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action short rifle # H4481 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1904. Very Good condition with all-matching numbers (small bolt parts mismatched) and bold royal crest above chamber. Original blued finish (browning on triggerguard and magazine-floorplate) with a nice mirror-bright bore, includes cleaning-rod. Stock has a few handling marked but is sound. Originally chambered in the obsolete 6.5x58 Verguiero cartridge, these rifles were rechambered to 8x57 in Germany just before WWII and have one of the smoothest actions of any military rifle. SOVIET Model 91/30 PU SNIPER Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # GK1671 (7.62x54R), barrel  mfg. by Izhevsk in 1943.  Excellent-PLUS rearsenaled condition with full bluing on all metal parts and a mirror-bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). All-matching numbers,. 1943-dated PU scope numbered 4318653, same # electropenciled on side of scope mount. Stock has a real nice shellac finish. SPANISH Model 1916 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # Z159 (7mm), mfg. by Oviedo in c.1931 with bent-bolt. Near Excellent or better condition, with metal surfaces thickly painted with black enamel. SPANISH Model 1916 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 3Z3498 (7.62x51 NATO), mfg. by Oviedo in c.1935.  Excellent condition, with 95% strong bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a mirror-bright and very strong bore. Bolt not matching, strong Civil Guard crest above chamber. Very attractive walnut stock and handguard has very few handling marks. TURKISH Model 38 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 64252 (8x57) rearsenaled by Kirkkale arsenal in 1941. Excellent condition, with 95% thinning bluing remaining on all external metal. No matching serial numbers (as usual), bore is extremely bright and strong, includes cleaning-rod. U.S.A. Model M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle # 2432283 (.30-06) mfg. by Springfield in May, 1944 with SA 3-53 replacement barrel.  Very Good condition with 90% light gray/green Parkerized finish remaining on all metal, bore is mirror-bright and still serviceable (TE = 3.5, MW = 2.75) and has mostly SA-marked parts (WRA bolt) with modified HRA op-rod. Birch stock is nice but dry, with two very small  arsenal repairs to forend. VENEZUELAN Model FN-49 Saive semiautomatic rifle # 5519 (7x57) mfg. by Fabrique National in c.1954. Excellent condition, with 90% original painted finish (stoving) and mirror-bright and very strong bore. Venezuelan crest on receiver is bold, with slotted muzzle-break. Walnut stock has some very minor scuffs from storage, with very bold circular FUERZAS ARMADAS VENEZUELA (Armed Forces of Venezuela) cartouche stamped on right side.
