    BELGIAN Model 24/50 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 5209 (.30-06) mfg. by Fabrique National in 1951.  Near Excellent condition, with 85% or better original blued finish with chipping black enamel.  Bore mostly bright and strong, Crowned-L (for King Leopold) with ABL and date 1951 atop receiver.  Matching bolt and buttstock, no other parts numbered.     BRAZILIAN Model 08/34 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 3141 (.30-06) mfg. by Itajuba in c.1950.  Very Good overall condition with 80% bluing (many parts browned from actual use). Bent bolt (with flat bottom) not matching (no other parts numbered), bore is mirror-bright with very strong rifling. Detailed Brazilian crest above chamber. Walnut buttstock and handguard has been lightly (and professionally) smoothed with few visible handling-marks and is quite pretty. No cleaning-rod. not import marked.     CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # B9630 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  Very Good condition, with 70% or better deep bluing.  No matching serial numbers (bolt headspaces properly), includes cleaning rod. Has very weak Chilean crest above chamber, with a strong and very bright bore, walnut stock (with 1895-dated cartouche) has original finish with a few dings, dents and other handling-marks and a 1" long crack behind tang.     CHILEAN Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action Carbinero carbine # 3140 (7x57mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Mauser in 1935. Near Excellent condition, with 85% bluing, very strong mirror-bright bore and all-matching serial numbers.  This has turned-down bolt with carbine rear-sight, strong crest above chamber and Mauser banner on rear of receiver. Wood has a few dings from normal handling, but nothing major and has original finish (1935-dated cartouche on left side of stock is quite bold and crisp).     COLOMBIAN Model 1950 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # F.20864 (.30-06) mfg. by R. FAMAGE in 1952.  Very Good overall condition with 85% blued finish (some verdigris) on all metal parts. Mismatched bolt (20110), very strong mirror-bright bore, with barely visible Colombian crest above chamber. Walnut buttstock and handguard has been professionally smoothed. Missing cleaning-rod.     CZECH Model vz24 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 4756 (8x57mm) mfg. by CZ in c.1925.  Excellent arsenal-refurbished condition with a very sharp mirror-bright bore. Crest above chamber scrubbed, bluing is 95% or so, no matching serial numbers.  Walnut stock has very vivid fiddleback figure and has been professionally smoothed and looks new.     FINN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action short rifle # F7028 (7.35x53 Carcano) mfg. by Terni in 1939 with [SA] Finn marking on left side of barrel-shank. Near Excellent condition with 90% original bluing on upper metal, magazine shows more wear. Some unusual markings on barrel-shank (including 1898 date). Bore is very bright and strong. Stock has been lightly smoothed long ago with faint matching cartouches.  Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $325.    C&R  

    FINN Model 39 Mosin Nagant bolt-action rifle # 43453 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. in 1942 with B marked barrel (Fabrique Nationale) with 1903-dated Izhevsk receiver. Excellent condition with 95% or better bluing. Bolt-knob numbered 3453 (matching), magazine floorplate and buttplate not matching (as usual). Bore is extremely strong and mirror-bright (and NOT counterbored). Includes cleaning-rod. Postwar stock (squared finger-joints) has a few minor scuffs but is otherwise as new.  Includes worn leather sling.  PHOTOS . . . $525.    C&R    SOLD

    GERMAN Model Gewehr 1871/84 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 2551 (11mm) mfg. by Spandfau in 1888 with 31 1/2" barrel.  An original example in Excellent condition, all-matching numbers, full slightly fading bluing with receiver "in the white" and a perfect mirror-bright bore, only barrel-bands show any light wear.  Buttplate has unit-marking 6. R. J. 2. 116.. Buttstock has somewhat clear cartouches and unit marks. Has previous owner's drivers license # lightly scratched atop barrel (easily removed if desired).     GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 8436c (8x57) mfg. by Sauer & Son (code S/147) in 1937. A Russian reworked rifle in Excellent condition, with 100% bluing and intact Nazi markings with Weimar eagles. Has all-milled parts. The bore is very strong and very bright. Buttstock is laminated with cupped buttplate, shellac has been removed from the lovely laminated buttstock. No cleaning-rod or locking-screws. The most amusing aspect of this rifle is that the Soviet refurbisher mistook the date for the serial number and electropenciled most of the metal parts (and stamped the stock) 1937 instead of the serial number.  PHOTO . . . $575.    C&R     SOLD

    GERMAN Model 98k bolt-action rifle # 353k  (8mm). A scrubbed Nazi 98k made by Sauer & Son (WaA280) during WWII. No matching serial numbers, all Nazi marking ground off for some unknown reason, and barrel-bands are not correct. Kriegsmodell solid-wood stock is pretty but has several non-critical small cracks. No cleaning rod, not import marked. Simply a genuine "shooter" 98k with no collector value. PHOTOS . . . $250.   C&R    SOLD

   GREEK Model 1903/14 Mannlicher-Schoenauer bolt-action infantry rifle # L2065 (6.5x54 M/S) mfg. by Breda in 1927. Yes, folks, this is the full-military version of the famed M/S rifle with its rotary magazine. Near Excellent condition with most bluing remaining, bolt slightly bent down, Greek crest very bold, bolt is mismatched (they always are, for some unknown reason), bore is mostly bright and very strong, no cleaning rod. The stock is quite sound and attractive with a few of the expected handling marks and faint "Kingdom of the Hellenes" cartouche. Rare as Hell, not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $975.      C&R   SOLD

    GREEK Model 1930 Mauser bolt-action short-rifle # B815 (8x57) mfg. by Fabrique National in 1930.  A mismatched example in Very Good condition with very faint Greek crest atop chamber.     HAITIAN Model 24/30 bolt-action rifle # 1907 (.30-06) mfg. by Fabrique National in c.1950.  Near Excellent condition, with all bluing remaining. Left side of receiver stamped ARMEE D' HAÏTI.  Bolt mismatched (2236) but is correct for issue, no other parts numbered. Bore is very bright and strong. Buttstock has quite a few minor handling-marks but no cracks, buttplate is of the cupped corrugated type. Not import-marked, very rare (the first we have ever encountered).     INDIAN Enfield No.2A1 bolt-action rifle # R6568 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by Ishapore Arsenal in 1967. Near Excellent condition, metal covered in very thick black enamel. A rework with no matching serial numbers, bore is mirror-bright and extremely sharp. Stock has original finish with some contact marks and white rack numbers on left side.  "Ishie screw" present, no repairs to stock (unusual for these). Includes original 12-round magazine.     ITALIAN Model 1870/87/16 Vetterli-Vitali bolt-action infantry rifle # KI5957 (6.5x52 Carcano) mfg. by Brescia in 1885. Excellent condition, with full bluing on external metal. Bore is mostly bright and the rifle appears to be functional. Buttstock has a subtle square arsenal repair on right side and the usual handlinmg marks from actual use.     PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # Y3959 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1931. Excellent condition, with all-matching numbers. Internally perfect with a mirror-perfect bore, wood is walnut with some very minor contact-marks and inventory stamps. PHOTOS . . . $875.   C&R    

    PERUVIAN Model 1932 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 02678 (7.65x53) mfg. by CZ in Brno in 1932.  Near Excellent condition, with full bluing and beautiful bold Peruvian-crest atop receiver.   Bolt is not numbered but correct Peruvian type with flattened and checkered bottom of knob and backwards safety. Bore is bright with strong rifling, no cleaning rod, walnut stock has been professionally smoothed and looks new. Very rare contract of which only 5,000 rifles were produced but few survive, not import-marked, but extremely pretty.  PHOTOS . . . $625.      C&R   SOLD

    PERUVIAN Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 20612 (7.65x54) mfg. by Fabrique National in c.1936.  Excellent condition, with full remaining bluing on all external metal. All matching numbers, bore is extremely bright and very strong, completely functional. Includes cleaning-rod, nice bold Peruvian coat of arms above chamber. Stock and handguard are excellent with a few dings and handling-marks but way above average.  Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $675.   C&R    SOLD

    PORTUGUESE Model 1904 Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action infantry rifle # 1045 (6.5x58 Verguiero) mfg. by DWM in 1904. Most of these rifles were slightly shortened and rechambered in 8mm Mauser caliber. . . this is one of the few that entered the U.S.A. in its original configuration. Very Good condition, with most original bluing intact and a gorgeous, mirror-bright bore. Buttstock has D.L.G.L.M.1045 stamped on both sides (Direcção Militar Geral Lourenço Marques (General Military Directorate Lourenço Marques). Lourenço Marques was the capital city of Portuguese Moçambique (Mozambique) until their independence (!!!) in 1975. Today this town is called Maputo. Includes cleaning-rod, can be fired with 6.5 Carcano ammo without cases splitting or any mishap (two fired cases included). Rare, and very seldom offered.  PHOTOS . . . . $950.  C&R    SOLD

    TURKISH Model 38 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 1204 (8x57) rearsenaled by Ankara arsenal in 1954 from a WWI-era Gewher 98 Near Excellent condition, with mostly bluing remaining on all external meta (browning at bottom and barrel bands from carry). Bolt not matching (but is correct straight bolt). Bore is extremely bright and strong, completely functional. Includes cleaning-rod.     TURKISH Model 48 bolt-action "forestry" carbine # 164 (8x50R Lebel), originally mfg. as a FRENCH M-16 Berthier rifle by Saint Ettienne during WWI and converted to its current configuration in 1948.     U.S.A. Model of 1917 bolt-action infantry rifle # 85711 (.30-06) mfg. by Remington in July, 1918. Excellent condition with 95% original blued (not Parkerized) finish on metal and a gorgeous mirror-bright bore  (TE = 2.0, ME = 2.0)., barrel stamped R (Remington) over 7-18.
