MILITARY RIFLES

ARGENTINE Model 1879 E.N. Rolling-Block single-shot full-length infantry rifle (11x58mm, aka .43 Spanish), mfg. by Remington Arms in c.1880Excellent-PLUS arsenal refinished condition, with full jet-black bluing on all metal parts. Bore is extremely strong and quite bright with some crud in the grooved. Sound wood stock has a few dings and compressions but no cracks. Completely functional, includes cleaning-rod. PHOTO . . . $750.   Antique, no FFL required     SOLD

ARGENTINE Model 1909 Mauser bolt-action rifle # E0292 (7.65x54) mfg. by DWM in 1910.  Excellent-PLUS condition, with 99% bluing on all parts (receiver in the white as it should be, intense fire-blue on all springs).  National Crest above chamber very bold, all-matching serial numbers (including cleaning rod and buttstock).  Bore is very strong and mirror-bright. Walnut stock and handguard has original finish with a few bumps and dings (it's been 109 years, after all), with new condition Argentinean forest-green leather sling. Includes non-matching Argentine-made bayonet and scabbard which has been with this rifle for many decades). PHOTOS . . . $925.   C&R

ARGENTINE Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 011923 (8x57mm) mfg. by F.M.A.P. (Rosario) in 1951.  Someone (likely back in Argentina) went through a LOT of trouble and expense to create a German 98k look-alike from a 1909/47 Cavalry carbine.  First they re-barrelled the action with an 8mm 98k barrel, then they replaced the bolt with a 98k bolt, dropped the action into a new beech Kriegsmodell stock, then added all other German 98k parts and a new reproduction 98k sling.  Why they did not blue the receiver (which is still "in the white") is anyone's guess, but they otherwise did a very good job creating a replica 98k. Excellent condition overall, no matching serial numbers, National Crest above chamber very bold. Bore is very strong and mirror-bright, has front sight hood but no cleaning rod (stock was never drilled to accept one). An extreme oddity, NOT import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $800.   C&R

CHILEAN Model 1912 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # A4502 (7x57 original caliber) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Steyr in 1912. All mismatched serial numbers, wood has considerable handling marks (it's 109 years old) but no cracks. Missing cleaning-rod, includes rear (detachable) sling swivel and original leather sling. PHOTOS . . . . $395.    C&R    SOLD

Top of receiver has been scrubbed, near perfect Kriegsmodell  laminated stock with stamped small parts and winter triggerguard. Bore is perfect and mirror-bright. No cleaning rod (stock not routed for one). PHOTOS . . . $750.    C&R   SOLD
