AUSTRIAN Model 1895/30 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action stuetzer carbine # 6598 (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr (barrel dated 1915). Excellent condition, arsenal refinished with full bluing. BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.1 bolt-action rifle # H30725 (.303 British) mfg. by B.S.A Shirley in 1944 and underwent Factory Thorough Repair at Fazakerly in 1947. Near Excellent condition, serial numbers of bolt, magazine and forend matches receiver, 4-groove bore extremely strong and mirror-bright. Rear sight is of the most recent milled ladder type. BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 98C2123 (.303 British) mfg. by Savage-Stevens in 1944 (undated). Very Good condition, with most oil-blacked finish remaining on metal and an excellent 2-groove bore with bright strong lands and slightly dim grooves..  Matching-numbered bolt with 2-marked bolt-head, all metal parts but magazine marked with square-S (for Savage). Rear sight is L-shaped flip type.  US PROPERTY marked on receiver. Wood has some handling marks and repair at heel next to buttplate, FTR painted on left side along with 8/53 date. BRITISH Enfield No.4 Mk.1/2 bolt-action rifle # A45418 (.303 British) mfg. by Maltby during WWII and converted to the Mk.2 configuration at Ishapore in 1954. Very Good condition, serial numbers of bolt and forend matches receiver, 4-groove bore extremely strong and mirror-bright. Rear sight is of the most recent milled ladder type. BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # R6707 (.303 British) mfg. at Fazakerly in September, 1945. Very Good condition, with 80% Suncorite finish. All matching serial numbers (except magazine). Has very strong and mostly bright 5-groove bore and 0-marked bolt-head. Stock and handguard has a few handling marks, includes MRT-marked cheek-rest. CANADIAN Model 1905 bolt-action straight-pull infantry rifle # 5978 (.303 British) mfg. by Ross Rifle Co. in c.1906 with U.S. property-marks behind triggerguard. Very Good or better condition with faded bluing on receiver and most remaining metal parts.  Bore is rough from firing corrosive ammo, but rifling is quite pronounced and is definitely serviceable. Bolt still has some fading case-colors, rifle remains in its original military configuration. Walnut stock has not been sanded, U.S. cartouches on the bottom of stock behind triggerguard has ordnance bomb and 5978 serial number. Includes canvas 3-piece sling.  Not import marked, quite rare, as most surviving have been sporterized. PHOTOS . . . $1350.    C&R     SOLD

GERMAN Model Gewehr 88/15 bolt-action Commission rifle # 4515 (8x57i) mfg. by Loewe in 1891. Excellent condition, with 95% thinning and browning bluing. Bolt not matching (has Arabic numbers), nor do any other parts except for barrel.  Bright and strong bore (marked with S), still retains its barrel-jacket.  Missing cleaning rod, lovely subtle tiger-striped walnut stock was sanded and refinished sometime in the distant past. GERMAN Gewehr 98 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 8628a (8x57mm), mfg. by Erfurt in 1910. Good condition, with basically zero remaining bluing and an acceptable bore with pronounced lands and grooves. No matching serial numbers anywhere, includes cleaning rod.  This rifle is in the proper Gewehr 98 configuration, with functional "roller coaster" rear sight, however the receiver has been replaced with a small-ring Kar.98 receiver (this was commonly done, as in Europe it is the BARREL that is considered to be the firearm, and the receiver is merely a rifle part, as is the bolt).  Stock has no finish with a repair at toe next to buttplate. This rifle was recently imported from Ethiopia, and has a reproduction leather sling with detachable rear sling-swivel.   PHOTO . . . $625.    C&R    SOLD

GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 7628m (8x57mm) mfg. by Bystrica (code dou 44) in 1944.  A Russian reworked rifle in Excellent condition, with full rebluing and good metal.  Nazi eagle with swastika intact on barrel.  Has all-stamped parts electro-penciled 7628 to match receiver. The bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Laminated buttstock has 7930 stamped on left side, includes cleaning rod and leather sling (both reproductions). Includes repro front sight-hood. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 22987 (8x57) mfg. by Brno (code dot) in 1944. An Iraqi-marked rifle in Very Good condition, with some of the bluing worn to gray metal and tiny intact Nazi eagles on left side of receiver and barrel. Iraqi "Jeem" triangle-stamp on top of receiver.  Has milled barrel-bands, triggerguard and magazine-floorplate stamped. Bolt and all bolt parts numbered 6174a, remaining small parts have mixed serial numbers. The bore is very strong and mostly bright, includes cleaning rod. The stock is laminated with sling swivels added at bottom (no doubt an Iraqi modification). Not import-marked.  PHOTO . . . $975.    C&R    SOLD

ITALIAN Model 91/28 Mannlicher-Carcano Truppi-Speciale carbine # C1174 (6.5x52) mfg. by F.N.A. Brescia in 1932. Excellent condition, with 95% original bluing remaining. Strong and very bright bore, left side of barrel has crossed rifles accuracy marking. Includes cleaning rod. Stock is matching barrel and is boldly stamped with FAT cartouche. ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano Truppi-Speciale carbine # RA53349 (6.5x52) mfg. by F.N.A. Brescia in 1943-4 (undated). Excellent condition, with 95% original bluing remaining. ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano short rifle # CA1886 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1941 (date and manufacturer not stamped on barrel, but determined by serial number prefix). Excellent condition, with 95% or better original bluing remaining. Strong and very bright bore, completely functional, stock has bold serial number stamped on left side.  This is the same type of rifle Lee Harvey Oswald ordered from Klein's in 1963 (but in better condition). ITALIAN Model 41 Mannlicher-Carcano infantry rifle # BB2533 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1943-4 (undated). Excellent condition, with all external bluing intact, with unnumbered straight bolt.  Bore is bright with very strong rifling. PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # C01016 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1931 (1309 Anno Hijera) with matching numbered bayonet. Excellent condition, with all-matching serial numbers. Internally perfect with a mirror-perfect bore, wood is striped walnut with subtle tiger-striped figure and has some contact-marks and abrasions as well as an inventory stamp on left side. PORTUGUESE Model 904/39 Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action short rifle # D5085 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1904. Excellent condition with full bluing, all-matching serial numbers and bold royal crest above chamber. Original finish (browning in  places) with a nice mirror-bright bore, includes cleaning-rod. Stock has very few handling marks and a small arsenal repair at front of triggerguard. Includes hinged muzzle-cap. Originally chambered in the obsolete 6.5x58 Verguiero cartridge, these rifles were slightly shortened and rechambered to 8x57 in Germany just before WWII and have one of the smoothest actions of any military rifle.   PHOTOS . . . $695.    C&R     SOLD

SOVIET Model SVT-40 Tokarev semiautomatic SNIPER rifle # NZH219 (7.62x54R), mfg. at Tula in July 1941. Excellent-PLUS Soviet arsenal-refurbished condition with 100% bluing and plum-colored bolt. Has a strong bright bore, receiver is grooved for scope-mount AND has scope-mount notch at rear (with proof stamp inside), features 12-slotted muzzle-break.  Replacement 1944-dated Navy-type AVT heavy stock (with sling-slot rather than swivels) has some handling marks (shellac is skinned a bit on left side) with one subtle arsenal repair on left side. Includes cleaning-rod, 10-round magazine and unusual 2-piece leather sling. Quite attractive, rare with sniper scope-notch. PHOTOS . . $2950.     C&R    SOLD

SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin cavalry carbine # 781920 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1943. All-matching serial numbers including magazine. Excellent condition with 95% bluing remaining and a near-perfect mirror-bore. Walnut stock and handguard (dated XI 43) has original finish with some of the usual scuffs and handling marks, soldier's tag beneath buttplate.  PHOTO . . . $750.    C&R    SOLD

SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin cavalry carbine # 255161 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1956. All-matching numbers including magazine. Very Good condition with 75% bluing remaining and a near-perfect mirror-bore, missing front sight blade. Beech stock and handguard (dated IX 54) has original finish with many of the usual scuffs and handling marks, soldier's tag beneath buttplate. Includes leather sling.  PHOTO . . . $525.    C&R

U.S.A. Model M1 Carbine semiautomatic rifle # 5286014 (.30 Carbine) receiver mfg. by Inland (General Motors)  in June 1944 with 6-44 dated Inland barrel.  Excellent or better condition with all remaining metal finish remaining. Has a mirror-bright near-perfect bore (MW = 0.5).  Features round-topped bolt, push-button safety, M-marked magazine release, and early front band without bayonet-lug. Includes 15-round magazine (marked II in circle) only where legal.  Beautiful walnut stock has almost no handling marks and an ordnance wheel cartouche on right side. Not import-marked. U.S.A. Model M1A semiautomatic rifle # 098087 (.308 Winchester) mfg. by Springfield Armory Inc. in October 1996 (semiautomatic commercial version of the military M14).  Near Mint condition, test fired only a few times. This has perfect condition commercial barrel (T.E. = 0.0, M.W. = 0.50)  and Brookfield Heavy Duty recoil guide rod, remaining parts are all exceptional U.S. G.I. military with full Parkerized finish remaining on all metal with National Match sights and S.A.I. 3rd Generation scope mount and rings. Walnut stock looks new with no dings.   Includes one 10-round magazine and web sling, cleaning tools in the butttrap.  Not import marked, retail when available was $2495.94.  PHOTOS . . . $1925.     not C&R    SOLD

YUGOSLAVIAN Model 24/47 Mauser bolt-action rifle # D8895 (8mm) mfg. by Zastava in 1949 (receiver marked 3ABOД 44).  Excellent-PLUS condition, a large-ring intermediate-length Mauser with 99% or better original bluing on all metal components and a sharp mirror-bore. Strong Tito-era Yugoslavian crest above chamber. Bolt numbered 8895 (matching), magazine floorplate and stock numbered 8895 (matching). Stock is walnut with only a couple small dings.
