AUSTRALIAN No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # C1979 (.303 British) mfg. by Lithgow Arsenal in 1941 with bayonet and scabbard.  Near Excellent  condition with most oil-blacked finish. All matching serial numbers, bore is quite bright and very strong, Department of Defense markings at top of receiver. Buttstock and handguards show some handling marks from actual use, bottom of forend has stamped rack numbers. Very nice bayonet has AUSTRALIA stamped in wooden handle, leather and metal scabbard a bit worn but sound. PHOTOS . . . $600.     C&R    SOLD

AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action stuetzer carbine # 8291Z (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr (barrel dated 1917). Near Excellent condition, arsenal refinished with full bluing. Bore is excellent and very bright, wood has very few handling marks. PHOTOS . . . $275.     C&R    SOLD

AUSTRIAN Model SA58 FN-FAL semiautomatic rifle # H0696 (7.52x51 NATO), receiver mfg. by IMBEL (Brazil)  in the mid 1990's. Very Good or better condition, some finish wear but very attractive with a mirror-bright bore and black-plastic furniture. Has attached bipod and uses metric magazines (one included). CHINESE Type 56 Siminov semiautomatic carbine # 11294549 (7.62x39) mfg. by Factory 26 in 1967.  Very Good condition with 80% bluing on all metal parts, bore is excellent and extremely bright. All matching numbers, buttstock has some handling marks from actual use. Not import-marked, this rifle was captured in Vietnam in 1970, but paperwork has been misplaced, guaranteed functional.  PHOTOS . . . $750.     C&R    

FINN Model 91 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action infantry rifle # 748763 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. by New England Westinghouse in 1915 with [SA] Finn property mark on  left side of barrel-shank. Very Fine condition with most bluing on all metal parts and a very bright bore (has NOT been counterbored at muzzle).  Bolt-body numbered 8763 (matching), remainder of numbered parts scrubbed (as usual). FINN Model 27 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 70442 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. in 1933 by Tikka on a 1899-dated Tula receiver.  Excellent condition with full original bluing remaining. Bolt-knob stamped 0442 (matching), bore is mirror-bright and very strong, includes cleaning-rod. Two-piece stock has some minor scuffs, scratches  and handling-marks (but no cracks) and is incredibly attractive. PHOTOS . . . $725.    C&R    SOLD

FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 41630 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Belgium in 1942 on an undated Remington receiver.  Excellent-PLUS condition with full bluing (barrel has a plum hue) and has a very bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Matching bolt-knob, includes cleaning-rod and correct green-leather sling. Transitional buttstock and handguard has literally zero handling marks, handguard has beautiful figure. GERMAN Model Gewehr 1871 bolt-action single-shot Mauser infantry rifle # 2226L (11mm) mfg. by Erfurt in 1876. Very Good condition, receiver "in the white" (as is proper, though a bit subdued it has not been polished bright recently).  All matching numbers, with a very strong and mirror-bright bore, bolt is missing its extractor, but rifle will function without it. Lovely buttstock has original finish with a nice tiger-stripe figure and very deep and clear cartouches, however it has a repaired duffle-cut on the forend. The triggerguard is made of brass, and it includes correct cleaning rod. Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $850.     Antique, no FFL required  

GERMAN Model 98 Mauser pre-war bolt-action sporting rifle # 3022 (8x57mm) with set-triggers. Very Good to Excellent condition with full original bluing and a mirror-bright bore.  Has "eagle/N" proofs, bolt numbered 22 (matching), attractive light engraving on receiver and magazine floorplate. Thin profile barrel has narrow swivel attached, rear sight has folding blade for 100 & 200 meters distance. Lovely walnut Monte Carlo stock has a slim profile and rifle is very light in weight. The set trigger on this rifle is simply AMAZING, and describing it as a "hair-trigger" simply does not do it justice.  Not import-marked.  PHOTOS . . . $850.     C&R   

JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series # 4, 61904 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in Feb. 1943 thru May 1944 with BAYONET. Excellent-PLUS or better condition with full original bluing. Bolt and all bolt parts and action-cover stamped 406 (matching). Has intact MUM above chamber.  This type has ALL the desired features: monopod, cleaning-rod, matching action-cover, rear sight with "aircraft wings" and plum bolt handle with checkered safety knob. Stock and long handguard has original finish and has never been sanded with few of the usual handling-marks. Chrome-lined bore is mirror-bright and strong. Not import-marked, functional. Bayonet is an excellent-PLUS example of Labar variation B with hooked quillion and blued blade, scabbard in unusually nice condition (both literally look new). A literally UNIMPROVABLE condion rig.  PHOTO . . . $750.    C&R     SOLD

JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 40 # 66840 (7.7x58) with BAYONET, both made at Jinsen Arsenal  (Inchon, Korea) in 1945. Very Good or better condition with original bluing fading to brown. No matching serial numbers, mum heavily ground. This type has fixed peep rear sight, cylindrical bolt handle with welded safety knob, wooden buttplate and no grooves on receiver for action cover and no provision for cleaning rod. Stock and short handguard has original finish and has never been sanded. Bore is somewhat bright and strong. Not import-marked, functional. Bayonet is the very scarce late-war type featuring unfullered blade with evident grind marks and straight handles (Babar variety R) and intact square-tipped wooden scabbard, both in Excellent condition.  PHOTO . . . $575.    C&R  

PERSIAN Model 98/29 rifle # R4995 (8x57) mfg. by Brno in 1939. Excellent condition, with all-matching serial numbers and a very bold national crest above chamber. Nearly 100% bluing with a mirror-perfect bore, missing cleaning-rod. wood is nicely finished walnut with a few handling marks from contact with adjacent rifles. Includes non-matching 98/29 bayonet and scabbard in decent shape. Not import-marked, though the serial number was transliterated by the importer.  PHOTOS . . . $650.   C&R   SOLD

PERSIAN Model 49 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 28268 (8x57) mfg. by Mosalsalsasi in 1950 with 18" barrel. Very Good condition with 75% bluing, mismatched (but correct) bolt, national crest a bit weak. Rear sight has Farsi numerals, includes cleaning-rod. Near perfect mirror-bore, nice beech stock with bold cartouches and a couple dings from storage. Not import-marked. PHOTOS . . . $625.    C&R 

POLISH Model 44 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine #  ASO1676 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Radom in 1952. Near Excellent condition with most bluing on all metal parts and a gorgeous mirror-bore (has NOT been counterbored at muzzle). All-matching numbers, bolt has been renumbered to match (but lacks letter prefixes). Stock is beech with some handling marks. Includes cleaning rod. PHOTOS . . . $375.    C&R    SOLD

ROMANIAN Model "C.U.R. 2" Kalashnikov semiautomatic carbine # 3-03116  (5.45x39), mfg. at Ratmil in 1997. Excellent condition with full bluing on all metal, bore is sharp and bright. SOVIET Model 91/30 PU SNIPER Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # CT320 (7.62x54R), barrel  mfg. by Izhevsk in 1944.  Excellent-PLUS rearsenaled condition with full bluing on all metal parts and a mirror-bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). All-matching numbers (bolt curiously stamped PR320, which must be a prefix error). 1941-dated SVT-40 scope numbered 66845, same # stamped on left side of barrel-shank.  Stock has a real nice shellac finish. Definitely NOT a reproduction, has very tiny import-marks on bottom of barrel. PHOTOS . . . $975.    C&R   SOLD

SOVIET Model SVT-40 Tokarev semiautomatic rifle # XB6058 (7.62x54R), mfg. at Tula in 1942. Excellent refurbished condition with full bluing on all metal, bore is sharp and mostly bright. Features four-chamber muzzle break, no scope rails. Includes ten round magazine and correct sling. Trigger group is a replacement. Stock has peeling finish with a few dings but no repairs or cracks. SPANISH Model 1921 Destroyer bolt-action carbine # 36403 (9x23 Largo) mfg. by Ayra Duria in 1963 (Eibar date-code I1). Excellent-PLUS condition with perfect bluing throughout. SWEDISH Model 94/14 bolt-action Mauser carbine # 102462 (6.5x55) mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1918. Excellent condition, about 90% external bluing with near-perfect mirror-bore, all-matching serial numbers including barrel-bands. Nice walnut buttstock and handguard with a few handling-marks, brass unit-disk and attached leather sling-buckle in right side,.  Has muzzle extension (added to enable importation before 1986). U.S.A. Model 70 Winchester bolt-action rifle # 64180 (.30-06) mfg. by Winchester in c.1942.  Very Good condition, a super-accurate vintage sporting rifle (that I have personally owned for over 50 years) with a checkered stock and period WEAVER scope featuring a  3-post reticule (and excellent optics).  Not import-marked, this rifle has accounted for the demise  of literally hundreds of mostly large animals while I have owned it.
