BRITISH Enfield No.1 Mk.III bolt-action rifle # N1529 (.303 British) mfg. by B.S.A. Shirley in 1942.  Near Excellent condition, all matching serial numbers with a bright and strong bore. CHILEAN Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action rifle # C7290 (7x57) mfg. by Loewe in 1895.  Near Excellent condition, with full remaining bluing on metal parts and retains some vivid fire-blue on the smaller parts. Chilean crest above chamber is a bit weak. All-matching numbers except for cleaning rod and some bolt-parts, bore is very strong and mirror bright. Walnut stock has Naval cartouche and original unsanded finish with quite a few dings, gouges and other handling marks and compressions from adjacent rifles. FINN Model 91 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 24751 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. by VKT in 1942 on a 1905-dated Tula receiver. Excellent condition, with nearly all bluing on all metal parts, receiver slightly pitted. No matching parts, bore is very bright and strong (NOT counterbored at muzzle). FINN Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 12133 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1936.  Very Good to Excellent or better condition, with mostly full bluing on all metal parts. Rifle is not [SA] marked, but bolt is force-matched in the Finnish manner, the globe on the front sight has been cropped, and it wears a green-leather Finn military sling. Bore is mirror-bright (and NOT counterbored at muzzle). One-piece Soviet stock has arsenal-repair on right side of forend, some heavy handling marks and initials scratched in  it. ITALIAN Model 1891 Mannlicher-Carcano Truppi-Speciale carbine # AT8868 (6.5x52) mfg. by Brescia in 1917. Very Good condition, with 70% original bluing remaining but no pitting. ITALIAN Model 91/24 Mannlicher-Carcano Truppi-Speciale carbine # ORS8046 (6.5x52) mfg. by Ordinance Roma in 1917 as an infantry rifle, and rebuilt by Terni in 1924 as a carbine. Very Good condition, with full bluing and no pitting. Strong if not bright bore, missing cleaning rod. Stock is not matching barrel and has original finish after rebuild. Rear sling-swivel broken. ITALIAN Model 91 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action Cavalry carbine with folding spike bayonet # 1A9247 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1937  (the XV year of Mussolini). Good to Very Good condition, much bluing remaining. Bore is strong and mirror-bright.  Stock not matching. Rear sight looks like it was broken and rebuilt using JB WELD (or something similar), the front sight has been made taller using a similar method (thus the cheap price). ITALIAN Model 91/38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action Cavalry carbine with folding spike bayonet # RB3884 (6.5x52) mfg. by Gardone in 1940  (the XIX year of Mussolini). Very Good condition, most bluing remaining, some verdigris present. Bore is strong if not mirror-bright.  Matching numbered stock has original finish. JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action rifle # 1624515 (6.5x50) mfg. at Koishikawa Arsenal  in c.1920. Very Good condition with much original bluing with some light verdigris adhering in places, mixed serial (or assembly) numbers, intact mum. Strong bright bore, includes correct cleaning rod, and original Japanese leather sling that is still extremely supple. Stock and handguard has original finish with many of the expected handling marks.  Not import marked. PHOTO . . . $625.    C&R   

JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 22, # 29924 (6.5x50) mfg. at Kokura in c.1936. Excellent condition with all original bluing remaining Mum has been ground (partly visible), all parts are numbered 924. this type has ladder-type rear sight and includes cleaning rod but no sliding action-cover. Bore is bright and very strong, wood has original finish with a few dings and dents from actual service use. Not import-marked. PHOTO . . . $475.    C&R

JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 7 # 57242 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in February-May 1944. Excellent or better condition with full original bluing. Bolt and all bolt parts stamped 242 (matching), mum heavily ground.  This type has ladder rear sight, cylindrical bolt handle with checkered safety knob. Cleaning rod present, Stock and long handguard has original finish and has never been sanded with very few handling marks. Bore is very bright and strong. Not import-marked, functional. JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 8 # 3896 (7.7x58) mfg. at Nagoya in June-September 1944. Excellent or better condition with full original bluing. Bolt and all bolt parts stamped 896 (matching), mum heavily ground.  This type has fixed peep rear sight, cylindrical bolt handle with welded safety knob. Stock and short handguard has original finish and has never been sanded with very few handling marks. No provision for cleaning rod, wooden buttplate. Bore is very bright and strong. Not import-marked, functional. Includes letter from the Navy Lieutenant on the USS BOXER who brought this rifle back from Japan.  PHOTO . . . $425.    C&R 

JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle Series 20 # 14506 (7.7x58) mfg. at Kokura in April 1941 - March 1942. Excellent condition with full original bluing, bolt and bolt parts numbered 506 (matching), mum heavily ground. This type has ladder peep rear sight, aircraft wings, monopod-type rear barrel-band (without monopod) and inverted V front sight (with guards). Includes cleaning rod, bore is chrome-lined and mirror-bright. Stock and handguard has original finish with some of the expected handling marks. PHOTO . . . $375.    C&R    SOLD

ORANGE FREE STATE Model 1893 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 8202 (7x57) mfg. by DWM in 1897 with Chilean crest above chamber and O.V.S. on left side above serial number.  Near Excellent condition, with 90% bluing intact.  Strong, very shiny bore, mismatched parts with turned-down bolt. Walnut stock (with 1895-dated Chilean cartouche) and handguard with numerous handling-marks but original finish. Includes cleaning-rod.  While bearing a close resemblance to the Chilean Model 1895 Mauser, this has a different rear sight and the receiver does not have the auxiliary bolt-lug. These rifles were intercepted by the British during the Boer War and never made it to South Africa, and were instead sent to Chile to fulfill a contract for Model 1895 rifles.  PHOTOS . . . $750.    Antique, no FFL required    SOLD

ROMANIAN Model vz24 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # RR3349 (8x57mm) mfg. by CZ in 1940.  Very Good original condition, barreled receiver actually has full bluing but magazine floorplate and triggerguard worn from carry. Bore is very sharp if kind of rough. Large date above chamber, bolt not matching. Walnut stock has a few scuffs, else has original finish. Includes cleaning rod and front sight protector. ROMANIAN Model 44 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine #  LD746 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Cugir in 1955. Excellent condition with full bluing on all metal parts and a gorgeous mirror-bore (has NOT been counterbored at muzzle). ABOUT BALKAN REWORKED MOSIN NAGANTS
Many of the following rifles were re-worked in the Balkans (mostly in Serbia, but other states as well). They are characterized by having mismatched parts and the Russian Czarist eagles on the barrel-shank and top-flat of the receiver are invariably ground off. 

RUSSIAN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action infantry rifle # 66142 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1905. Very Good or so condition, a Balkan rework with mostly full bluing on all metal parts and a mostly dark bore with strong rifling. No matching numbers, stock has a few handling marks in finish and is sound. No cleaning rod or handguard (correct for a 1905 Mosin).  PHOTOS . . . $250.    C&R   

RUSSIAN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action infantry rifle # 38297 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1914.  Excellent condition, a Balkan rework with mostly full bluing on all metal parts and a mostly bright bore with strong rifling. SOVIET Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action ex-sniper rifle # PT59 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Tula in 1943.. Very Good original condition with 80+% bluing on all metal parts and a mirror-bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Mismatched bolt, remainder of numbered parts matching. Includes cleaning rod, stock has many handling marks and scratches, includes tan web sling. PHOTOS . . . $225.    C&R  

SOVIET Model 1891/59 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # 1010 (7.62x54R), original manufacturer scrubbed. (possibly Romanian?).  Excellent-PLUS condition with 98% or better bluing with all matching STAMPED numbers. Bore is mirror-bright (and has NOT been counterbored at muzzle). Lovely M44 stock has a few minor handling marks from storage and clamp marks on sides (from being sighted-in with a fixture). Arsenal-repaired small crack on right side of tang, includes cleaning rod and PPSh-type sling secured by knotted leather thongs. PHOTOS . . . $425.   C&R   

SWISS Model K-31 Schmidt-Rubin cavalry carbine # 995223 (7.5x55mm) mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1953. Near Excellent condition with 80% bluing remaining and a near-perfect mirror-bore. All matching serial numbers, beech stock and handguard has original finish the usual scuffs and handling marks and is dated IX 52 under buttplate. Includes leather sling and muzzle cover. U.S.A. Model of 1917 bolt-action infantry rifle # 144339 (.30-06) mfg. by Remington in early 1918 with R 2-18 marked barrel.  Near Excellent condition with full blued (rather than Parkerized) finish on metal. Has a bright and strong bore. Apparently a  lend-lease rifle for England or Canada, with painted red stripe on forend (to differentiate them from the P-14 rifles, which are identical but utilize the .303 British cartridge).  Includes an Enfield web-sling.
