    AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action infantry rifle # 7474T  (8x50R original caliber) mfg. by Steyr in 1916.  Very Good condition, about 75% original finish remaining.  Bore is somewhat bright and strong. Stock and barrel matches receiver serial #, bolt not numbered. Wood has many compressions and several gouges, but retains original finish and has no cracks. Includes leather sling, not import marked.     AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action carbine # 1964D  (8x50R original caliber) mfg. by Steyr.  Very Good condition, about 75% original finish remaining.  Bore is very bright and strong.  This is apparently an early civilian issue as it lacks the stacking hook on the front band and has no military proofmarks on the barrel or any of the parts. The only serial number is on the left side of the receiver (none at all on the barrel, bolt or stock). Wood has some of the expected handling marks, not import marked. PHOTOS . . . $475.     C&R   

    BELGIAN Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 12259 (7.65x53mm) mfg. in Liege in the late-1930's. Excellent condition with 95+% original bluing and a sharp mirror-bright bore. Apparently the original stock was replaced with a well-fitting laminated 98k stock. The magazine floorplate and triggerguard is numbered 12259 (matching), the bolt is 23163 (not matching), stock is numbered 12259 to match on right side. The handguard and barrel bands do not match (rear barrel band has sling swivel on bottom, and there is an additional sling swivel on bottom of butt).  Missing cleaning-rod, but remaining Belgian parts are present.  Receiver is marked MANUFACTURE D'ARMES DE L'ETAT with tangent-sight calibrated from 100-1900 meters. Stock has only a few handling-marks.  Not import-marked, scarce in the U.S. and rarely seen as nice as this example.  PHOTOS . . . $950.  C&R  

    BRAZILIAN Model 1908 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 9885e (7x57mm) mfg. by DWM in 1911.  Near Excellent condition, with 85% or better bluing (receiver "in the white" as is proper).  Brazilian national crest above chamber very bold.  All matching serial numbers (including bolt and all bolt parts), bore is extremely bright and strong. Streaked walnut stock and handguard has quite a few minor handling-marks and dings (not bad for 111 years old). Includes worn but correct leather sling and unnumbered brass and steel muzzle-cap.     BRITISH  Lee Enfield .22 single-shot trainer # AM1460 (.22 LR) manufactured by Enfield in 1917.  Excellent condition, with 95% or better oil-blacked finish on metal and a very sharp mirror-bore. Originally a SMLE Mk.III* rifle, the barrel having been replaced by a non-matching 1922-dated barrel converted by PARKER-HALE / BIRMINGHAM (stamped on the knox-form) and fitted with a specialized .22No.2 bolt-head. All parts but the (replacement) barrel match. Magazine is empty and serves only as a repository of expended .22 casings so as to not litter the range. The wood has a few minor bumps from handling but is otherwise as made.  Extremely attractive, not import-marked.    PHOTOS . . . $850.     C&R     SOLD

    BRITISH No.4 Mk.1 bolt-action rifle # AK17032 (.303 British) mfg. by Maltby in 1943. Good or so condition with very little external finish remaining. No numbered parts matching, two-groove barrel is quite bright and very strong. Has L-shaped flip-type rear sight. Stock shows some handling marks from actual use (but no cracks).  Rear retainer-ring for handguard missing but an intact replacement is provided.     BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 18C7755 (.303 British) mfg. by Savage-Stevens in 1942. Very Good condition, with pleasing gray metal surfaces and an excellent mirror-bright 2-groove bore.  Bolt is matching (no other parts numbered) with 0-marked bolt-head, all parts marked with square-S (for Savage).  US PROPERTY marked on receiver, rear sight is the L-shaped flip type, and has older knob-type cocking handle.     BRITISH Model No.4 Mk.1* Enfield bolt-action rifle # 57C8630 (.303 British) mfg. by Savage-Stevens in 1942. Very Good condition, with some Parkerizing remaining and an excellent mirror-bright 2-groove bore.  Bolt is matching, bottom of forend has different serial and is Canadian marked with arrow in C.  Bolt-head stamped 2, all parts marked with square-S (for Savage).  US PROPERTY marked on receiver, rear sight is the L-shaped flip type.     BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # AA1134 (.303 British) mfg. at Fazakerly in April 1947. Excellent condition, with 95% enamel finish. All matching serial numbers (including magazine), Has very strong and bright 5-groove bore and 1-marked bolt-head. Stock and handguard has very few handling marks. Not import-marked.     BRITISH Model No.5 Mk.1 IMITATION Enfield bolt-action "Jungle Carbine" # PF237715 (.303 British), a replica produced from a cut-down No.4 Mk.2 mfg. at Fazakerly in March 1952 by some enterprising soul. Excellent condition, with 95% Parkerized finish. No matching serial numbers on any of the parts (the bolt is from a Savage No.4 Mk.1*). Except for the L-shaped flip type rear sight, this carbine has all "Jungle Carbine" fittings and from a distance could easily pass as one (and no doubt has, many times). Gorgeous mirror bright 5-groove bore and 1-marked bolt-head. Stock and handguard has very few handling marks.  Includes correct tan web sling.   Not import-marked.     FINN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 23445 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Izhevsk in 1905 with [SA] Finn property-mark on left side of barrel-shank. Better than Good condition with very little remaining bluing.  Bore has some light pitting with strong lands & grooves, has been counterbored at muzzle. Bolt-body stamped 23445 (matching), magazine floorplate and buttplate has been scrubbed. Near Excellent condition with nearly full bluing remaining.  Bore is very bright and strong, has been counterbored at muzzle. Bolt-body stamped 77337 (matching), magazine floorplate and buttplate has different numbers (as usual).     FINN Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 722216 (7.62x54R) mfg. by New England Westinghouse in 1915 with [SA] Finn property-mark on left side of barrel-shank. Better than Very Good condition with 90% bluing, but bore is mostly bright and strong. Has NOT been counterbored at muzzle. Bolt-knob stamped 2216 (matching).     FINN Model 24 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 6970 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. by Böhler Stahl on a 1899 dated Tula receiver with stepped barrel. Near Excellent condition with 90% or better bluing. Bolt numbered 6970 (matching), with Christmas-tree mark (indicating that the barrel was set-back and rechambered). Bore is very bright and strong, includes cleaning-rod.     FINN Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 189215 (7.62x54R) mfg. by Tula in 1937 and [SA] Finn property mark on left side of barrel-shank.  Very Good original condition with full bluing on all metal parts with a round receiver and and a rather dark, rough bore (from use with corrosive ammo). has NOT been counterbored at muzzle).  All markings original and matching (no restamped serial numbers).  Russian one-piece stock has quite a few handling marks and dings.     FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 228994 (7.62x54R), mfg. by SAKO in 1942 Near Excellent condition with 85% or better original bluing. Bolt-body and magazine floorplate numbered 8994 (matching).  Bore is extremely strong and mostly bright (and NOT counterbored). Two piece wartime stock (rounded finger-joints) has very vivid flame-type figure with bold SAKO wheel on right side of stock and some heavy handling marks from actual use.     FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 303082 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. in 1968 by SAKO on a post-1898 receiver.  Excellent-PLUS condition with 100% bluing. Bolt-knob numbered 3082 (matching).  Bore is extremely strong and mirror-bright (and NOT counterbored). Includes cleaning-rod, buttstock has a few superficial dings from transportation & storage but has no signs of actual use. Includes excellent correct dark green leather sling.     FRENCH Model 1874/M80 Gras bolt-action single-shot cartridge rifle # N68987 (converted to .22 Long Rifle) mfg. by St. Etienne in 1879.  Excellent condition, with full external bluing.  This was rechambered to .22LR for inexpensive practice for the popular French shooting clubs.  Bolt, all bolt parts, and stock numbered 68987 (matching). Bore is very bright with strong rifling. Forend of stock has been shortened by 12" (as usual for these), missing its wooden-plug on right side.  Not import-marked, very rare outside France.   PHOTOS . . . $925.     Antique, no FFL required 

    GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 7538 (8x57) SS CONTRACT mfg. at Gusen Concentration Camp on receivers manufactured by Steyr-Daimler-Puch (oversized code bnz 43) in late 1943.  Excellent-PLUS condition (not a Russian-capture) with two bold eagle / swastikas and all matching serial numbers.  Specifically, the following parts all bear the numbers 7538: barrel, left side of receiver, triggerguard, bolt handle, safety, rear sight, rear sight base, and inside barrel-channel of both the stock and handguard. The milled barrel bands, bolt cocking piece and magazine floorplate are not numbered (likely fabricated at Gusen itself), but the floorplate has eagle above WaA77 (all correct for this issue, see Karabiner 98k, Vol.IIb, pages 744-745).  The barrel also stamped bnz / 1 inside shield with br next to it and eagle / /WaA623 inspection mark.  White glue laminated stock has duffle-cut repair under barrel band (see photo), the right side of stock lacks any cartouches, and the right side of receiver is blank (which is also correct for this SS issue). Bore is extremely bright and strong (like new). Includes front sight hood but lacks cleaning rod (likely lost when stock was duffle-cut).     INDIAN Model SMLE .410 musket # 28326D.   Originally a No.1 Mk.III* rifle mfg. by Ishapore in 1931 and converted to single-shot 2 1/2" chamber .410 shotgun by Rifle Factory Ishapore in 1950. Excellent-PLUS condition, with all remaining bluing intact, all numbered parts matching and very few handling marks in stock, rear handguard has the usual repaired cracks.   Bore is absolutely prefect and simply dazzling.   Includes 40 rounds of POF.410 brass-cased ball ammo made for this rifle (4 tattered paper-wrapped bundles of 10 rounds each).     ITALIAN Model 91/24 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action Cavalry carbine with attached folding-bayonet # P3202 (6.5x52 Carcano) mfg. by Gardone V.T. in 1937 (year XV of Mussolini).  Excellent condition with 95+% full bluing and an excellent, mirror-bright bore.  Beech stock and handguard has original finish with very bold 1937 dated GARDONE cartouche on left side, >CAV SA< stamped on bottom of butt.  Not import marked, a great original (no reworked) example of this type.     ITALIAN Model 38 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action short rifle # BQ4138 (6.5x52 Carcano) mfg. by Terni in Early 1941 (year XIX of Mussolini). Excellent condition with full original bluing on all metal.  Bore is very bright and strong. Stock has been sanded with almost no dings since. Includes 98k type leather sling and one en-bloc clip.  Not import marked, a pleasant example of the rifle used in the John F. Kennedy assassination.  PHOTOS . . . $575.    C&R     SOLD

    JAPANESE Type 38 Arisaka bolt-action infantry rifle Series 24, # 18918 (6.5x50) mfg. at Kokura during October 1939 to May 1940.  Near Excellent condition with full original bluing remaining with intact MUM!    This type has ladder-type rear sight with V-aperture and includes cleaning rod, bolt is numbered 918 (matching). Bore is mostly bright and rifling is very strong, wood has original finish with many heavy dings and dents from actual service use but has no cracks, U.S. soldier's name AL COLEMAN scratched on left side of butt.     JAPANESE Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action rifle cut-down to carbine length, Series 9 # 52571 (7.7x58) mfg. at Hoya Jyuko (Osaka) in Spring 1945. Very Good condition with full original bluing, bolt and bolt parts numbered 054 (not matching), Heavily ground mum, this "last ditch carbine" has fixed peep rear sight and inverted V front sight, fixed rear sight and cylindrical bolt handle. No provision for cleaning rod, bore is not chrome-lined but is very bright with strong rifling. Stock and handguard has been refinished with some of the expected dings and handling marks. Shotened barrel and forend very amateurishly done (but why?). Not import-marked, functional. PHOTO . . . $325.    C&R  

    SOVIET Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 64875 (7.62x54R), mfg. by Tula in 1922. Excellent original condition with full bluing on all metal parts and a somewhat bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). Buttplate numbered 64875 (matching), magazine floorplate not numbered, top-flat of bolt renumbered 875 to match.     SOVIET Model 91/30 PU SNIPER Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # TE78 (7.62x54R), mfg. by Tula in 1944. Excellent refurbished condition with full bluing on all metal parts and a mirror-bright bore (NOT counterbored at muzzle). All serialized parts numbered (or renumbered) TE78  (matching) except for buttplate, has bent bolt handle, C H (=sniper) on top of receiver. 1943-dated refurbished PU scope numbered 29116, same number stamped on left side of barrel shank. Stock and handguard has the inevitable scuffs in the shellac finish from use and storage, but is otherwise in nice shape. Optics are bright and clear, includes leather lens caps.
