AUSTRIAN Model 1895 Mannlicher straight-pull bolt-action carbine # 1924T (8x56R) mfg. by Steyr (barrel dated 1918). Excellent-PLUS condition, arsenal refinished with full bluing. BRITISH Martini-Henry Mark IV long-lever single-shot rifle # 2550 (.577/450) mfg. by Enfield in 1887.  Excellent condition with nearly all external finish remaining. All original (not a Khyber-pass or copy from Nepal) and 100% functional with a mirror-bright bore that has very strong rifling. Rear sight is a leaf adjustable from 100-1200 yards. Original stock sound with no cracks, very clear and neat 1906-dated Nepali cartouche on right side. BRITISH No.1 Mk.III* bolt-action rifle # T634 (.303 British) mfg. by Enfield in 1917. Very Good condition with most oil-blacked finish. Bolt matches receiver, bottom of rear sight leaf and nose-cap do not. Bore is mostly bright and very strong, rear sight has windage adjustable wheel on right side. Buttstock and handguards show wear and handling marks from transportation and storage, with a dent on left side. PHOTOS . . . $440.   C&R    SOLD

BRITISH replica Model "No.5 Jungle Carbine" # AM8952 (.303 British) mfg. at BSA Shirley in 1943 as a No.4 Mk.1, reconfigured to "Jungle Carbine" configuration by the Santa Fe Division of Golden State Arms during the 1960's. Excellent or better condition, with most finish intact on external metal.  Bolt stamped AM8952 (matching). Has mirror-bright 5-groove bore and 0-marked bolt-head, as well as 5-round magazine (to make it legal for hunting in most states). CHINESE Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 4T5848 (8x57) mfg. by Hangyang Arsenal in April, 1940. A copy of the Gewehr 88 rifle in Very Good condition, with 60% or so browned and fading bluing. No matching serial numbers (very few parts are numbered), has Swastika and Chinese characters with numbers 29 & 4 above chamber. Bore is somewhat bright with lots of crud in the grooves but has strong rifling, stock is sound with no cracks and has a large oval cartouche on right side. Missing cleaning rod. GERMAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # 9337b (8x57mm) mfg. by Bystrica (code dou 44) in 1944.  Excellent condition, with full bluing, Nazi eagle with swastika intact on receiver. Not a Russian capture, with no matching serial numbers and has stamped barrel-bands. The bore is excellent and mirror-bright. Laminated buttstock has no bolt takedown-disk, includes front sight hood, cleaning rod and locking screws, as well as a Israeli 98k leather sling. Imported by Federal Ordnance in the 1980's. GUATEMALAN Model vz24 bolt-action Mauser rifle # 1613 (7mm) mfg. by CZ in 1924. Excellent condition with bold Guatemalan national crest (long-tailed Quetzal bird atop Constitution, crossed rifles behind and crossed swords below) above chamber. Excellent bore, straight-handled bolt mismatched (as usual) but correct for issue. Wood looks unissued with several small cartouches, missing cleaning rod.  Very rare, not import-marked, the nicest example we have ever encountered. . .  PHOTOS . . $1250.   C&R   SOLD

HUNGARIAN Model 44 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action carbine # BF8103 (7.62x54R) mfg. at Budapest in 1953.  Excellent or better condition, with nearly perfect bluing and a mostly bright very strong bore. All-matching numbers as-issued except bolt is stamped BF7871 (which has been scratched out, with 8103 etched on top of bolt rib). A few minor handling marks on wood and usual crappy shellac finish. INDIAN Enfield No.2A bolt-action rifle # A02108 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by Rifle Factory Ishapore in 1964. Excellent condition, with metal surfaces protected by thick black enamel "stoving". All matching serial numbers, bore is mirror bright and sharp. Stock has original finish with some contact marks with one small arsenal repair on heel of on butt, rear handguard has usual small dovetailed repairs. NOT chambered for .308 Winchester ammo (no matter what anyone else tells you, don't shoot .308 in this rifle). PHOTOS  . . . $575.    C&R  

ITALIAN Model 1891 Mannlicher-Carcano bolt-action infantry rifle # FG176 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1897 with Tubata-lined barrel. Very Good PLUS condition with 90% or so bluing remaining, bore is dark but usable. Stock has sharp stamped numbers on left side with a 1947-dated FAT oval cartouche. ITALIAN Model 91/24 Mannlicher-Carcano Truppi-Speciale bolt-action carbine # AE9786 (6.5x52) mfg. by Terni in 1897 as an infantry rifle and rebuilt into carbine configuration by Terni in 1929. Near Excellent condition, nearly full bluing, bore is mirror bright and very strong.  Stock has matching AE9786 on left side and leather sling. Includes three six-round chargers, not import marked. PARAGUAY Model 1927 Mauser bolt-action rifle # B3333 (converted from original 7.65x54 to 8x57mm) mfg. by Oviedo in c.1932.  Near Excellent condition, with 90% or better deep bluing.  Bold crest above receiver, stock stamped 3333, bolt force-matched 3333 on handle, remainder of bolt parts stamped 03.  Includes cleaning rod and auxiliary bayonet-lug.  Bore is mostly bright with very strong rifling.  Stock has a very few handling marks, large A engraved on left side.  Not import-marked, extremely scarce. SOUTH AFRICAN REPUBLIC (Z.A.R.) Model 1893 Mauser bolt-action rifle # C556 (7x57) mfg. by D.W.M. in early 1899.   Excellent condition, with 90% original bluing and all-matching numbers (except cleaning-rod) with matching straight bolt. Decent (if not very bright) and strong bore.  This rifle also has a very bold Chilean crest above chamber and has late rear-sight with two springs.  Wood has never been sanded and has its original finish with a few dings and scratches.  Very rare, one of only 4,000 manufactured and quite historic.   PHOTOS . . . $740.   C&R  

SPANISH Model 1893 long rifle # C666  (7x57mm) made by Loewe in 1894. Very Good condition, with 80% or better original blued finish. All matching serial numbers on all parts, bore is very rough and dark, but rifling is strong. Walnut stock has some dings and other marks to be expected of a 126 year-old military rifle that saw service in the Spanish American War.  Not import marked.   PHOTOS . . . $750.      Antique, no FFL required    SOLD

SWEDISH Model 1867 Rolling Block single-shot rifle # 130 (12.17x44mm converted to Centerfire) mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1869.  Very Good or better condition, no external finish (receiver has case-hardened finish with faded colors).  All matching serial numbers on every numbered component (almost every part). Completely functional, with a strong, very bright bore. Wood has original finish with a few handling-marks and is sound.  No brass Unit-Disk on left side, no cleaning-rod. Not import-marked. SWEDISH Model 96B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 90224 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1901 with straight-bolt and threaded muzzle. Excellent condition, with 95% or better original bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (bore disk stamped 6.51/0).  Bolt (and all bolt parts) matching, remainder of visible minor parts mismatched. SWEDISH Model 96 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 355546 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1915 with straight-bolt and and unthreaded muzzle. Excellent condition, with 95% or better original bluing on all parts. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (bore disk stamped 6.51/3).  All visible serial numbered parts matching (except magazine floorplate and cleaning rod). SWEDISH Model 96/38B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 297 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1898 with straight-bolt and threaded muzzle (threads protected by metal cap). Very Good condition, with 80% or better original bluing on all parts. Has a very bright and strong bore (disk marked 6.52/2).  All visible numbered parts numbered 297 except magazine floorplate (811) and barrel-bands.  Beech stock has some dings and handling-marks from actual use. SYRIAN Model 48A Mauser bolt-action short rifle # S1809 (8x57) mfg. at Zastava in 1948. Excellent condition, with 90% or better bluing with gorgeous Syrian crest above chamber. All-matching serial numbers, bore is strong and mirror-bright. Has stamped triggerguard, magazine floorplate, and front barrel-band. Stock and handguard is a bit rough with a few scuffs and scrapes, includes cleaning-rod and front sight-hood. Scarce. PHOTOS . . . $775.     C&R   

TURKISH Model 1893 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 17679 (8x57) originally made by Mauser in 1895/6 and rearsenaled by Ankara arsenal in 1936 and re-chambered from the original 7.65x53 cartridge. Very Good or better condition, with most bluing turned to brown on all external metal. No matching serial numbers (but is correct straight bolt). Bore is somewhat bright with very strong rifling, completely functional. Includes cleaning-rod. Ottoman markings (including Arabic numbers on receiver and most parts) clear. TURKISH Model 38 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 11130 (8x57) rearsenaled by Ankara arsenal in 1945 with bent bolt having bottom of bolt knob flattened. Excellent condition, with all bluing remaining on all external metal. Rear sight serial numbered to match receiver, nothing else does (as usual). U.S.A. Model 1873 Trapdoor single-shot infantry rifle # 243745 (.45-70 Government) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1883. Excellent condition, with full bluing and a gorgeous, mirror-bright bore with Buffington rear sight. Very strong markings (including very bold SWP 1883 cartouche on wood). U.S.A. Model 1873 Trapdoor single-shot infantry rifle # 262913 (.45-70 Government) mfg. by Springfield Armory in 1884. Very Good condition, most metal turning brown with some light freckling on barrel bands, breech block and barrel. Has a gorgeous, mirror-bright bore and 5th type Model 1879 buckhorn rear sight. Original military configuration with strong markings (including faint SWP 1884 cartouche on wood). YUGOSLAVIAN Model M95M Mannlicher straight-pull short rifle # 26736 (8x57mm), made by Steyr (undated).  Excellent condition, with 95% or better bluing and a mirror bright and very strong bore. Bolt not matching (as usual), triggerguard is stamped 26736 (matching). Stock has very few dings and handling marks, extractor works just fine, and internal magazine clip is present. YUGOSLAVIAN Model 98k Mauser bolt-action rifle # B26 (8mm) mfg. by Mauser during WWII and restamped at Zastava in c.1947/8.  Excellent condition, a large-ring standard-length Mauser with 70% or better faded bluing on all metal components and a sharp mirror-bore. Has Tito-era Yugoslavian crest above chamber and stamped triggerguard and magazine floorplate. YUGOSLAVIAN Model 24/47 Mauser bolt-action rifle # B5114 (8mm) mfg. by Zastava in c.1948 with straight bolt.  Excellent or better condition, an intermediate-length Mauser action with 93% bluing on the metal surfaces and a mirror-bright bore with perfect rifling. Bold double-struck Tito-era Yugoslavian crest above chamber. Buttstock numbered 5114, bolt and magazine floorplate mismatched. YUGOSLAVIAN Model 48 Mauser bolt-action rifle # M18631 (8x57) mfg. by Zastava in c.1950. Excellent-PLUS condition (looks unissued).  This is a large-ring intermediate-length Mauser with 99% or better original bluing on the metal surfaces with no apparent wear and a razor sharp mirror-bore. Strong Tito-era Yugoslavian crest above chamber. All matching serial numbers, with milled triggerguard and magazine-floorplate and bent bolt handle with bottom of knob flattened.
