ALBANIAN Model SKS semiautomatic rifle # 0351-77 (7.62x39) mfg. at Umgramsh military arms factory in 1977. Excellent-PLUS condition, with 97% or better bluing on metal. All matching serial numbers, with near-perfect mirror chrome-lined bore. Stock has only a few dings, compressions and scratches on the stock from handling, some remaining cosmoline in the action from storage. Includes folding trefoil spike-bayonet and cleaning rod. ALBANIAN Model 56 Sino-Soviet SKS semiautomatic rifle # 11951 (7.62x39) mfg. in China in 1956. Very Good condition, with 50% or better bluing on metal showing much finish wear. All parts have matching serial numbers, with near-perfect mirror chrome-lined bore. Stock has URIM HOXHA scratched into left side and a deeper Cyrillic carved on Left side by buttplate.  Quite a bit of remaining cosmoline in action from storage. Includes folding blade bayonet and cleaning rod. Scarce, a VERY EARLY SKS imported from Albania with the above Albanian SKS carbines (which were virtually unknown until their importation). ARGENTINE Model 1891 Mauser bolt-action rifle # E3912 (7.65x54) mfg. by Loewe in 1892.  Excellent condition, with 95% or better deep bluing.  All parts matching receiver, including cleaning rod. Crest above chamber ground off (as usual).  Bore excellent and extremely bright with very strong rifling. Stock has been lacquered with a few dings, features short handguard. Not import-marked. AUSTRIAN Model 1867/77 Werndl-Holub single-shot rifle # 441B  (11.15x58R) mfg. by Ferdinand Früwirth (Vienna) in 1871 and proofed in Vienna in 1871.  Good to Very Good condition overall, external metal was "in the white" but has age-toned to plum with some minor external encrustations. Bore is surprisingly very bright and strong, action is in amazingly good condition and is completely functional.  Buttstock has original finish with considerable handling-marks and dings from actual use but no cracks. Has crossed-through unit-markings on buttplate as well as what I assume is the serial # (441B) at bottom.  Missing cleaning rod and sling swivels, else complete and totally functional.  Most of these were made by Steyr, this is the first I have encountered that was made by Früwirth.  PHOTOS .  . . $950.  Antique, no FFL required  

BELGIAN Model 24/50 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 13843 (.30-06) mfg. by Fabrique National in 1952.  Near Excellent condition, with 85% or better original blued finish with black enamel chipping in places.  Bore mostly bright and strong, Crowned B (for King Baudouin, 1951-1993) with ABL and date 1952 atop receiver.  Matching bolt and buttstock, no other parts numbered. Walnut stock has original finish and a few scuffs and handling-marks with subtle tiger-stripe figure, no cleaning rod. Not import-marked.  PHOTO  . . . $650.     C&R     SOLD

BRAZILIAN Model 1908 Mauser bolt-action rifle # 31n (7x57mm) mfg. by DWM Berlin in c.1912. Excellent-PLUS condition, with 98% bluing (receiver in the white, as is proper), bore is strong and mirror bright. All matching serial numbers. Brazilian-crest above chamber very strong, wood has lovely TIGER-STRIPE figure and a few extremely minor dings and compressions with original finish and clear Star of David cartouche. Excellent condition, with 95% bluing (receiver in the white, as is proper), bore is strong and very bright. All matching numbers (safety is a blued replacement). Brazilian-crest above chamber very strong. Wood has a few minor dings and compressions with original finish and razor-sharp Star of David cartouche. Includes cleaning-rod and used leather sling. BRAZILIAN Model 1935 Mauser bolt-action long rifle # 7961 (7x57) mfg. by Mauser in 1937.  Excellent-PLUS with 100% bluing and all-matching serial numbers. Gorgeous mirror-bore and fantastic detailed Brazilian crest above chamber. Walnut stock has slightly rough surfaces with subtle tigerstripe figure in the grain and a few dark stripes, small bump at bottom of forend.  Not import-marked, very beautiful with Mauser BANNER on rear of receiver.  PHOTOS . . . $1450.   C&R    SOLD

BRITISH Martini-Henry Mark II long-lever single-shot rifle without serial number (.577/450) mfg. by Enfield in 1874.  Very Good condition with no external finish (these were originally "in the white" rather than blued) and very little pitting. All original (not a Khyber-pass copy) and functional with a somewhat dark bore that has strong rifling. Original stock and handguard sound with no cracks or splits  (old break repaired at tang).   PHOTOS . . . $875.    Antique, no FFL required    SOLD

BRITISH Martini-Henry Mark III short-lever single-shot carbine (converted from musket) # 5789 (.303 British) marked on right side of receiver as mfg. by  London Small Arms in 1885 and  converted to .303 carbine at Enfield in 1895 (as indicated on left side of receiver).  Very Good condition with full blued finish and a dark and rough bore (from shooting corrosive-primed ammo) that has very strong rifling. Rear sight is a leaf adjustable from 200-1800 yards. Original stock has many handling marks and clear ENFIELD cartouche on right side.  Unit marked T. L. F. / 278. CZECH Model vz52 semiautomatic rifle # S35644 (7.62x45) mfg. by CZ Brno in 1955.   Excellent condition with original Parkerized finish intact and a gorgeous bright bore. Includes folding bayonet and fabric and leather sling.  Stock and handguard has none of the usual cracks and has sloppy finish.  Includes 150 rounds (ten 15-round boxes) of 7.62x45 Czech military ammo.  PHOTOS . . . $975.     C&R   

FINN Model 96B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 475681 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1919 with straight bolt and threaded muzzle with scewed-on matal muzzle-cap, [SA] stamped on left side of receiver.  Near Excellent condition, with 85% or better strong bluing on all metal parts. Has strong markings and a bright and strong bore  (disk marked 6.50/1).  All visible parts numbered 681 except cleaning rod (which almost never match, as they were swapped around quite a bit). Beech stock & handguard has a few handling marks but is otherwise sound.  Includes new tan leather sling.  PHOTOS . . . $950.     C&R   

FRENCH Model 1936 MAS bolt-action rifle # FG91476 (7.5x54mm) mfg. by St. Ettienne in April 1952. Excellent-PLUS, arsenal refurbished condition with near 100% Parkerized finish on all metal and a nice wood stock and handguard. Mirror-bright bore, matching front and rear stocks. no other parts matching. Includes integral spike-bayonet, Nimes arsenal-tag still attached. PHOTOS . . . $825.    C&R     SOLD

FRENCH Model 1936-51 MAS bolt-action rifle # F98910 (7.5x54 MAS) mfg. by St. Ettienne in October 1956.  Excellent condition, all matching serial numbers, excellent mirror-bright bore.  Includes grenade-launcher and integral spike-bayonet. FRENCH Model 1949-56 MAS semiautomatic rifle # H54099 (7.5x54) manufactured at St. Etienne in 1968.     Excellent condition, with full Parkerizing. Has a dark and pitted bore from using corrosive ammo and not cleaning properly afterwards (and is priced accordingly, much less than my cost).  Is a pity about the bore, as this rifle is gorgeous otherwise but it should still shoot just fine. Includes one ten-round magazine. Wood stock has a few very minor handling marks on both sides.   PHOTOS . . . $600.     C&R        SOLD

GERMAN Model Karbiner 98 Mauser bolt-action sporting rifle # 1091 (8x57).  An early scoped small-ring Mauser with excellent twin-set triggers and a Monte Carlo type stock with hand-checkered pistol-grip and Schnabel forend. Scope is a prewar sniper-type Hensoldt Wetzlar 4x Dural-Dialytan with excellent optics (three-post reticule) affixed to rifle with a single-hook tipping-type mount. Double falling-leaf open sights are also present. Bore is excellent and very bright and action is smooth with the set-trigger requiring only the slightest touch to fire. A few minor bumps on side of stock, not import marked. PHOTOS . . . $875.   C&R     SOLD

GERMAN Model 98k bolt-action rifle # 67r  (8mm), mfg. by Mauser (factory code 42) in 1939.  A rearsenaled Russian-capture in Excellent condition, with 100% bluing, all parts electropenciled with number of receiver.  Has a laminated stock with flat buttplate and faint but clear Eagle / L stamp on right side (Luftwaffe).  All milled small parts (solid front band). Bore is excellent and quite bright, intact Nazi eagle / Swastika on left side of barrel-shank, three Nazi eagle / Swastika proofs on right side of receiver. PERUVIAN Model 1909 Mauser bolt-action infantry rifle # 26563 (7.65x54) mfg. by Mauser, Oberndorf in 1909 with a 29 1/2" barrel (manufactured by S.I.G. in Switzerland).  Very Good to Excellent condition, with 90% original bluing and a slighgtly dark but usable bore.  Features a lange-vizer (rollercoaster) rear-sight (like the German Gewehr 98), crest atop chamber visible, no matching serial numbers.  Buttstock and handguard has some damage but is sound with no cracks, large but faint Mauser BANNER stamped on right side. PORTUGUESE Model 904/39 Mauser-Verguiero bolt-action short rifle # H5719 (8x57) mfg. by DWM in 1904. Excellent condition with full bluing, all-matching serial numbers and bold royal crest above chamber. Original finish and has a nice mirror-bright bore, includes cleaning-rod and brown leather sling. Stock has very few handling marks.   Originally chambered in the obsolete 6.5x58 Verguiero cartridge, these rifles were slightly shortened and rechambered to 8x57 in Germany just before WWII and have one of the smoothest actions of any military rifle.   PHOTOS . . . $850.    C&R     SOLD

ROMANIAN Model vz24 Mauser bolt-action short rifle # E16694 (8x57mm) mfg. by CZ in 1937.   Excellent-PLUS refurbished condition, with full bluing on all metal parts. Front edge of bolt handle electro-penciled to match, left side of stock stamped to match, some small parts not matching. Top of chamber stamped with large 1937. Bore is extremely bright and very strong. Walnut stock is as pristine as they come with only a few small (almost unnoticeable) dings.  Includes cleaning rod, front sight protector. SOVIET Model SKS-45 Simonov semiautomatic rifle # TSh3565 (7.62x39) mfg. by Tula  in 1951.  Excellent non-refurbished example with 100% blue and a chromed mirror-bright bore.  All matching serial numbers, bolt-carrier and blade-bayonet bright. SPANISH Model 1893 long rifle # 20 9318 (7x57mm) made by Oviedo in 1924. Excellent condition, with 96% or better original blued finish. All matching serial numbers, bore is very bright and strong. Walnut stock has very few of the minor dings and other handling marks expected of a 100+ year-old military rifle (has NOT been refinished). SPANISH Model 1895 Mauser bolt-action saddle-ring carbine # 1820  (7x57mm) made by Oviedo in 1896. Very Good or better condition, with 70% or better original blued finish. Bolt stamped 1820, no other parts are numbered.  Top of receiver has been scrubbed, but date can be deterined by serial number without letter prefix.  Bore is somewhat bright and a bit worn. Walnut stock has very few dings or other marks to be expected of a 130 year-old military carbine that likely saw service in the Spanish American War. SPANISH Model FR-8 Mauser bolt-action tactical carbine # FR8-16038 (7.62x51 NATO) mfg. by La Coruña in 1952. Excellent condition, with 98% Parkerized metal surfaces and a sharp mirror-bore. Matching serial numbered bolt (no other parts numbered), crest atop receiver extremely clear. SWEDISH Model 94 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 63005 (6.5x55), mfg. by Carl Gustaf in 1915 with bent bolt and lacking bayonet lug. Excellent condition, with 90% or better bluing on all major parts. Has strong markings and a mirror-bright and strong bore.  Bolt and all bolt parts numbered 069, nose-sap # 214, buttplate # 306, else all other numbered parts # 005. Walnut stock & handguard has only a few dents, scuffs and handling-marks from service use, brass unit-dick stamped 1 / T4 / No. 804, includes sling buckle. Rare without provision for bayonet. SWEDISH Model 96/38B Mauser bolt-action rifle # 43762 (6.5x55), mfg. by Waffenfabrik Mauser in 1900 with straight-bolt and threaded muzzle with scewed-on matal muzzle-cap. Excellent condition, with 95% bluing on all parts. Has strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (disk marked 6.49/0).  All matching serial numbers, barrel bands and magazine floorplate stamped only with crooked-crown, unnumbered cleaning rod).  T-marked rear sight calibrated from 100-600 meters. SWEDISH Model 38B Mauser bolt-action short rifle # 643132 (6.5x55), mfg. by Husqvarna  in 1942 with bent bolt and threaded muzzle with screw-on muzzle-break.  Excellent-PLUS condition, with 98% or better bluing on all metal parts and little apparent wear. Has very strong markings and a very bright and strong bore (disk marked 6.50/0).  All matching numbers (striker has electro-penciled numbers), barrel bands and magazine floorplate stamped with crooked cross. VENEZUELAN Model 24/30 Mauser bolt-action carbine # 1692 (7x57) mfg. by Fabrique National in the mid-1930's. Near Excellent condition, with 90% original factory bluing (some external pitting at wood-line), receiver is blued (as is proper for carbines) with bold crest above chamber. Bore is bright and shiny, all-matching numbers (only the bolt-handle bears a number on these) with cleaning-rod. Has milled magazine-follower and flat milled buttplate. Wood is walnut with a few handling-marks from contact with adjacent rifles.  A very attractive and handy 7mm carbine, quite a bit rarer than the short rifle, not import-marked.
